Akon Says Mike's Gonna Lip Sync

AKON has disappointed scores of fans who have splashed out on tickets for MICHAEL JACKSON's comeback concerts by insisting the King of Pop won't be singing live. The R&B star, who has previously collaborated with the Thriller hitmaker, admits Jackson won't be showing off his vocals during This Is It, his upcoming seven-month London residency, and will instead rely on a pre-recorded track. He says, "Michael singing I'm not so sure about. He will perform but not sing." But Akon maintains audiences at the British capital's O2 Arena will still be thrilled by the spectacular show Jackson is planning: "It's going to be amazing, I can definitely tell you that. I'm going to have front row tickets. I will have the best tickets in the house and will be so close to the stage you will think that I am on it." Jackson is scheduled to kick off This Is It in July.

Nas No-Show Wreaks Havoc

Rapper NAS sparked chaos at a scheduled concert in Canada on Thursday night (28May09) when he failed to show up.The I Can hitmaker, real name Nasir Jones, was due to play a show in Torbay, Newfoundland with support from Kardinal Offishall, who did appear as scheduled. The crowd turned ugly when they realised Nas would not be making an appearance and started throwing beer cans and objects onto the stage, prompting security officials to call the police. Several unruly fans were arrested at the scene, authorities have confirmed. The reason for Nas' no-show has yet to be established. The rapper is currently embroiled in the early stages of a divorce battle with his pregnant wife Kelis.

Michael Jackson splashed out almost $4 million on statues of children.
The 'Thriller' singer - who was cleared of child abuse allegations in 2005 - purchased the life-size bronze monuments of kids holding hands, dancing and playing on slides to display in his Neverland home.
Jackson is said to have made the purchases - which were revealed in court documents filed by his ex-publicist Raymone Bain - while his huge debts piled up, using money from the $16 million he received for "Personal expenses" after selling his half of the ATV Music Publishing company to Sony in 2006.
The magnitude of his spending is legendary as he has earned and dissipated several fortunes.
In the court documents, Bain, who is suing Jackson for $33 million, claimed: "The magnitude of his spending is legendary as he has earned and dissipated several fortunes.
"Mr. Jackson's pattern has been to spend to the brink of insolvency and then borrow against his assets to further feed his spending would give any other individual a moment of pause.
"Mr. Jackson exhibited and continues to exhibit impulsive and irresponsible spending habits without regard to the financial limits of his earnings."
Most of the statues are now being auctioned in a bid to raise cash for the star.
Last week, the 50-year-old star - who is said to be in millions of pounds worth of debt - postponed the first four concerts of his 50-night residency at London's O2 arena.

Scott Storch Money Trouble

Producer SCOTT STORCH is facing further financial woes - he has been ordered to pay actor/film producer MATT SINNREICH $750,000 (£500,000) to settle an on-going business dispute.Sinnreich filed suit against the Grammy-winner accusing him of reneging on a deal for them to found a company together in 2007. The aspiring movie star claims he paid Storch $25,000 (£16,667) for a 25 per cent stake in the firm, but his legal papers claim Storch "failed to form the corporation and failed to return the $25,000". Sinnreich sued alleging breach of contract and civil theft and when Storch failed to respond to the complaint, a judge granted Sinnreich's motion for default, ruling in his favour, in December (08). And now a jury in Miami-Dade County, Florida have decided on the damages to be paid out - ordering Storch to hand over $750,000 (£500,000), according to the Miami Herald. Storch hit headlines over the last few months after missing payments on his Miami, Florida mansions, his luxury cars and child support obligations. He has also pleaded not guilty to grand theft auto after allegedly failing to return a leased Bentley on time. Storch, 35, recently opened up about his financial worries, blaming his money situation on a devastating drug habit that resulted in him blowing his multi-million dollar fortune on cocaine.

Athlete Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa are countersuing their housekeeper for charges she brought against the pair in March.
Sources confirm exclusively to RadarOnline.com that the baller is suing former maid Maria Jimenez for Breach of Contract, Breach of Covenant of Good Faith and Fair Dealing.
"During the period of her employment, the Bryant family treated Jimenez with utmost respect," the Bryant's claim in the documents.
Jimenez previously claimed that Vanessa inflicted all kinds of distress on her during employment, with alleged acts like docking her salary for ruined designer clothing and making her handle dog feces.
The Bryant's say Jimenez was treated like family--invited routinely to dine with the couple, even given a paid leave of absence with the gift of roundtrip airfare to her native Peru, where Jimenez visited family on the anniversary of her Mother's death.
Jimenez's March suit claimed wrongful discharge, emotional distress and unpaid wages.

The Bryant's rely heavily on the maid's non-disclosure agreement as basis to dismiss her charges, and as for the feces--the couple swiftly point out that dog droppings "are not specifically listed in the Hazardous Substance List" in California's Labor Codes.

New Edition Songwriter In Harvard Murder Plot

A songwriter for R&B group NEW EDITION has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 21-year-old American university student. Prosecutors claim 20-year-old Jabari Jordan Copney - listed as the writer of the group's track Feelin' It - went to the prestigious Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts with two friends on Monday (18May09) in an attempt to rob Justin Cosby in a drug-related crime. But the heist went wrong and led to shots being fired that resulted in Cosby's death. Cosby, a Cambridge resident who was not a student at the school, had been selling drugs to Harvard students, according to District Attorney Gerard Leone. Copney entered his plea on Friday (22May09) in Medford, Massachusetts. He is currently being held without bail. New Edition launched the career of Bobby Brown in the 1980s and have played a number of reunion shows since.
