WTF

JAMIE FOXX has been tipped to play late Rat Pack crooner FRANK SINATRA, according to reports. Leonardo DiCaprio and Harry Connick Jr. were among the names rumoured to be in contention for the role after it was announced earlier this month (May09) that filmmaker Martin Scorsese will direct a biopic. But now African-American actor Foxx, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Ray Charles in 2004's Ray, has emerged as the favourite to play Ol' Blue Eyes. And studio bosses are convinced Foxx has the charisma and talent to tackle the role of Sinatra, who died in 1998. An insider tells Britain's Daily Star, "Jamie would seem to be born to the role. Magnificent voice, convincing acting ability - like Frank himself - born the wrong side of the tracks, makes it big against all odds, has his brush with authority. The guy's a gift."

Ummm...

Jamie's not an "...Eye-talian-American..." by ANY stretch of the imagination. If by some slim chance they are able to pull this off, hand the Oscar to the Make-up artist/Special Effects crew NOW, whether the movie STINKS or not...

I know one is ask to suspend reality when watching a movie, but C'MON...this has 2 be a joke...there will be RIOTS IN THE STREETS OF HELL'S KITCHEN, JERSEY AND CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN!!!

First Obama, and now THIS!?! OHELLNAW...!!!

GETDAFUCKOUTTAHERE...Man, PLEASE!! Quit playin'...

not to be racist, but shouldn't it be some one white playing Sinatra, since in fact he is itallian? I mean it would be more accurate, right? People would go NUTS if a white man had played Ray Charles! JF is talented but really come on now....

You gotta be kidding me?!?! This is a joke, right?

if a white women can attempt to play a black part, then jamie can play a white guy.

Will he wear white face makeup? Seriously, Foxx might be able to pull it off, but I can't imagine it. My vote would have gone to Connick, and even then it would have been weak choice. Connick has the chops, but not the skill. Oh, this should be very interesting if it happens, but I can't imagine Scorsese directing Foxx as Sinatra. I wonder who will play Ava Gardner (the love of Sinatra's life).

I guess that you arer speaking of the Angelina Jolie Role in that David PEal Movie, right.

That was weak too, but at least the lady she was playing was bi-racial.

Come on now, if JF does this movie in whiteface, people are going to feel like they are trying to make a comedy. People are not going to take the icon's biopic seriously. If a white man had did Ray in blackface people would have been in an uproar, as they should be.

I am all about a black James Bond or black super heroes that were once depicted as white, but when it is SOMEONE"S real life story, you have to have an actor that charactorizes them.
