Mike Tyson Wanted to Sock Robin Givens

MIKE TYSON has opened up about his volatile relationship with his first wife, actress ROBIN GIVENS , confessing he wanted to "sock" her for what she said to U.S. interviewer BARBARA WALTERS in a famous 1988 TV special.
The former boxer, who Givens later accused of physically abusing her before divorcing him, admits he felt stupid as he sat by his wife's side while she poked fun at him and accused him of being violent towards her on national television.
Looking back, he wishes he had stopped the actress and spoken for himself - but he was so angry he feared he'd lose control of his emotions in front of TV cameras.
Appearing on U.S. TV talk show Oprah on Monday (12Oct09), Tyson said, "I truly wanted to sock her... but I just didn't do it. I was young at the time... I have socked her before and she socked me before, but it was just that kind of relationship, you know."
And while show host Oprah Winfrey attempted to contemplate the type of damage Tyson could do in a fight with a woman, the former champ said, "Robin is a very tough woman... and she can be very mean as well. She's no easy pushover at all."

Didn't see the Oprah interview but I was around during the '88 interview and as much as I hate to say it, Robin was probably one of the FEW women who deserved to get her ass kicked by a man back then.

If there's truth to the rumor that she once told Brad Pitt(before Thelma and Louise) he couldn't act and then ran to him to pay her rent years later, then that's some karma.

she looks the type to make a man feel like a boy. like she got more balls than anyman who would ever try to clown her, abuse her, whatever, by the time she's done with them, they'll be the one walking away hurt and ashamed. i believe him, their relationship was toxic.

i also understand that side of her personality cause men these days pretty much get away with anything concerning relationships and woman are just suckers these days it seems, but you can put your foot down without being mean

i seen that interview. It was sad. And quite panful watching him try to put a sentence together. I had to look away a few times.

He just seems like a real troubled person who had a shitty life as a child, and it got even shittier as an adult (despite the fame and fortune). best of luck to him.

Will someone please get this man into therapy?!? He won't (can't?) deal with his problems when they arise (i.e, his marriage to Robin Givens, biting Holyfield's ear, feeling lonely) and it causes him problems for years. He's doing the same thing with his daughter's death (not dealing with it) and this will cause problems for him, too. If his friends and lovers really cared about Mike, they'd get him some help.

Why was I about to type that very same thing and then looked up to see your post. I can't stand her. She uses people and situations to stay valid but it's not working...at all.
