Popeater's Rob Shuter reports that Kanye West is among the only top stars not invited to appear on tomorrow's George Clooney-organized telethon for Haiti. "After what he said on the Katrina telethon and the way he behaved at the MTV Video Music Awards, everyone agrees it's just best that he does not participate," says a producer. "Kanye has to make everything about himself. He will do anything to steal the spotlight and, well, this night it's just not about him."

There is a time and a place for everything and Kanye comes off as too stupid to know the difference. He helped NO ONE by blurting out any of the things his stupid azz blurted out. Who cares if someone speaks their mind if they aren't lifting a finger to help the situation? Nor did his speaking his mind cause anyone else to help the situation. Give the money, the time or stfu!
Too bad his mama isn't still around to help him w/this celebrity thing. Seems he spiraled out of control when she passed a couple of yrs. ago. He may have good intentions in helping Haiti but folks this remember him being publicly disrespectful to the little blonde, blue-eyed "girl".

im not black but i feel like black celebrities are punished more harshly in the public eye than white celebs...kanye may be inappropriate at times but it seems like other white celebs that have had issues always seem to redeem themselves. Look at the media, charlie sheen and chris brown, yes chris brown is way bigger star but charlie sheen has had a number of wife beating allegations but still walks away with a clean rep and a hit show (i dunno who still watches maybe white ppl). Anyways just feel like black celebs are ostracized when they mess up but the white ones get a slight backlash go back to being normal. Look at Kanye, Chris, Tiger not gonna lie white ppl love to watch black men fall.

In Charlie's case, it's his dad (Martin) whose not only old Hollywood but got political ties etc.
I do agree about White vs. Black celebs gone wrong. Take any of those VH-1 opinion shows where Bobby Brown's name comes up. All the panelists start clowning - hard, even the brothers. But Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver), who did everything in the 90s and 2000s as far as drugs and spousal abuse were concerned and people talk about what a great musician he is. Of course, he's still in the music biz
