In an article for the February issue of Esquire magazine, Blagojevich says: "I'm blacker than Barack Obama. I shined shoes. I grew up in a five-room apartment. My father had a little laundromat in a black community not far from where we lived," Blagojevich said. "I saw it all growing up."
Blagojevich, referring to the president as "this guy," says Obama was elected based simply on hope. "What the (expletive)? Everything he's saying's on the teleprompter.”
The White House is not commenting on his remarks.
The twice-elected Democrat was impeached and removed from office in 2009 after federal prosecutors arrested him on corruption charges that included trying to sell Obama's old U.S. Senate seat. He has pleaded not guilty and is expected to stand trial later this year.

what white folks don't realize is that being black is more than being poor and growing up in the streets. in the end, he can still put on a suit and walk into a board room and be taken more seriously than one of us.

....still, dude does kinda have a point. He should just substitute the word 'black' with the word 'hood' or 'gutter'. Problem is those terms are typically associated with black life when reality is that you don't gotta be black to come up gutter, ghetto, or hood.
so he lived in a 2 bedroom apartment. so all apartment dwellers are poor??? so if you live in an apartment you are classified as poor. well why are people selling their homes and moving to apartments?? because it is cheaper than having a big ass house .. why are elderly folks close to retirement selling their homes and going to senior citizens?? less money and less hassle.. a house is the american dream and it can also be an american nightmare. this is why some people perfer an apartment over a house. he shined shoes so what. you made some money.. you lived in a black neighborhood and your dad "OWNED" a laundromat. wow he was soooo poor...
