Tiger Woods’ wife has hired a private eye to probe the extent of the love-cheat golfer’s wealth after boasting to pals her Christmas present from him was “$300million”.
Elin Nordegren, 30, plans to divorce Woods in California rather than Florida due to the state’s more generous laws – and wants to know exactly what he is worth.
The former model could get half the £377million he has earned since they married in 2004 and her lawyer has ordered a PI to sift through every company account, tax return and phone bill.
She has also hired Sorrell Trope, 82, a partner in Californian law firm Trope and Trope who has represented stars including Nicole Kidman, Nicolas Cage and Britney Spears.
A source close to the Swede said: “Elin knows hiring a PI is a smart move. Her lawyers want to make sure she gets every penny she's entitled to. Elin is devastated, but now she's decided to end their marriage she has the future of their children to think about.” Tiger, 33 – the world’s highest-paid sportsman – is thought to be worth almost $1billion (£500million) and has mansions in Florida and California.
As his fortune is spread across the globe it makes estimating his true worth difficult. Finance expert David Marchant of offshoreAlert.com said: “Tiger will be hiding money legally in tax havens.”
Woods has not been seen in public since smashing up his car on November 27. Since then, 18 women have been linked with him.
Elin barred him from seeing their two children at Christmas and she saw in the New Year with Sam, two, and Charlie, 10 months, in France. Tiger spoke to them on speaker phone.
Chalet worker Chris May said: “They didn't argue once.” He added Tiger told his kids: “Daddy misses you all.”

My whole deal from all this is...did she go to get her PAPS done? Too many sexual partners...I know she had to get tested. She knew how Tiger was before she married him. Okay, I just have to really comment on some of these posts. First of all, let's get one thing straight...Tiger is NOT black. By his own words, he does not want anything to do with his black race...to include our religion (He is a buddist). That said, let's leave the nationality of his wife out of it. The bottom line is that not only did he cheat on her, but he put her life at risk when he did not protect himself with the various women he slept with. Another thing, he publicly humiliated her. In any other social situation, he would be financially liable. Lastly, Elin is the mother of his child and being a stay at home mom is MORE than a job. She deserves EVERY PENNY the judge awards her and a whole lot more. I don't blame her for ripping his pockets inside out.
