Wyclef Responds to Impropriety Allegations

I have worked beside wyclef, his cousins, and even wife in helping Yele Haiti help rebuilt Haiti. I am 100% disgusted by these alligations, and I stand by wyclef and all of the great work he has done for his people. Millions and millions of dollars have been spent in housing, feeding, and educating our people. We provide medical care on a daily basis to those who have nothing, at times we are even under staffed. I am going back to Haiti in a few weeks to help rebuild the country, and I may not be back for up to a year! I have read the allegations, and they are not false! would you like to also read other peoples tax calims on their charities! charities have staffs and people to pay. It neve suprises me how the man who was in haiti when the quake first hit pulling out dead bodies is being put up against a negative light. Yele is legit, and I stand by it, I will ever step back. I will continue to help my fellow people and the best that I can! that is a promise! One of the few celebs who mingles with his people and doesn't need security! he's one of the realiest people you will ever meet in such a fake industry! the couple hundred of us that work for Yele know the truth!

Here is the article slamming Wyclef's charity - http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=452067&GT1=28102

Now, I not know anything about his charity because I don't follow Wyclef. However, I first saw this article yesterday evening and was appalled after I was done reading it. So excuse me for the following rant, but it pissed me off:

How in the fucking hell, does somebody have the time and the nerve, at a time like this, to sit down and decide WYCLEF's charity, is on some bogus shit???

You have the people down there still not getting the supplies and assistance they need; in other words, Katrina ALL OVER AGAIN. You have millions of American charities that have years, even decades, of well-known shady business practices (Red-Cross) where you can never be sure the money you send them goes where it's supposed to go. You have the fact that Wyclef's charity alone has already raised over $2 million WHILE THE PRESIDENT, FORMER PRESIDENTS, AND OTHER TALKING HEADS, SITTING ON THEIR ASSES AS PER USUAL INSTEAD OF BEING DOWN THERE DIGGING TRAPPED HAITIANS FROM UP UNDER THE RUBBLE.

No, instead the Associated Press makes time for an article who's purpose is so clear that it sickens me, that purpose being to detract people from donating to this man's charity because heaven forbid Haiti actually sees any of the money pouring in. Yes, I am talking about the fact that your money probably stands a better chance of reaching those people through Wyclef's charity than it does through any government-backed charity....because our government are the ones who caused this earthquake in the first place. (HAARP > High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program).

Think to yourself, why the Associated Press took it upon themselves, at a time when people need to come together, bring their funds and resources together, to cause uncertainty and division among those of us who have or plan on donating our money to helping Haiti? Ask yourselves why they are moving survivors to Guantanamo, A PRISON, instead of neighboring Dominican Republic? Ask yourselves why they choose to start a smear campaign ONLY NOW A FEW DAYS FOLLOWING THIS CATASTROPHE on who is probably the most recognizable celebrity FROM HAITI?

I'm disgusted by this article, I'm disgusted by this country and it's blatant corruption and degradation. I'm sick and fucking tired of the fear-mongering. It is not the will of our government for Haiti to recover from this disaster, made more obvious by this article DETERRING people from continuing to donate to this man's charity, which will instill doubts about donating in general to any NGO charities. And what is the alternative? To sit and watch another genocide play out on our televisions because that is the ultimate goal and this government wants to see to it that nothing gets in their way. I really hope I'm not the only one watching and paying attention.

End rant.

I don't even believe Wyclef has even been to Haiti yet. You know he probably would've recorded the whole thing for media coverage. I don't trust Wyclef. I think he's been the people of Haiti for his own benefit for years.

YOU must be crazy! Wyclef goes to haiti on a regular basis! He frequents numerous charity events and is just the regular guy walking down the street. It's so funny how someone comments on something they know nothing about.Half his family stay there! You must not be haitian, because we all know that he a regular in haiti and miami!

Okay, Wyclef at THIS POINT, shut up about it and BE ABOUT IT! Clearly, you're passionate about Haiti. You are a native. I'm SURE your intentions are bent toward good. Yele however is NOT a rescue and relief organization. If there has been mismanagement of funds/taxes as a mistake because the organization is NEW, as you said on Oprah, then this is the time to learn from and piggy back on organizations which specialize in disaster relief. I get that you have an NGO. I got it! Stop telling us. I donated to YELE, now I'm wondering if you can't manage properly before the disasater, what now? PEOPLE NEED HELP NOW. You said on Oprah, "Let me be in charge of getting things to the people"? REALLY? Is that EGO? If you could do so much, why haven't you already? Wyclef, you're one man, with a lot of passion, I see that. But check your EGO! See what organizations YELE can partner with at this point. STOP TALKING AND KEEP DOING IT! You said, the message from Haitian people was to stop putting cameras in their faces as photo ops? 1. you did the same thing with your cousin's flip cam. 2. that's how world attention is being put on this story!

Just because you're passionate and Haitian doesn't make you an authority. We're ALL part of the struggle. We love you Wycelf. But you're not prepared to take the LEAD on this one. Play your position and see where you can do the best good. This is not about YOU! Unlike some, I don't mistrust your motives. I mistrust your ability in this circumstance. Your heart is in the right place bro. JUST STOP TALKING ABOUT IT!
