John Mayer Causes Firestorm With N-Word and David Duke Dick Remark

PLAYBOY: If you didn’t know you, would you think you’re a douche bag?

JOHN MAYER: It depends on what I picked up. My two biggest hits are “Your Body Is a Wonderland” and “Daughters.” If you think those songs are pandering, then you’ll think I’m a douche bag. It’s like I come on very strong. I am a very…I’m just very. V-E-R-Y. And if you can’t handle very, then I’m a douche bag. But I think the world needs a little very. That’s why black people love me.

PLAYBOY: Because you’re very?

MAYER: Someone asked me the other day, “What does it feel like now to have a hood pass?” And by the way, it’s sort of a contradiction in terms, because if you really had a hood pass, you could call it a nigger pass. Why are you pulling a punch and calling it a hood pass if you really have a hood pass? But I said, “I can’t really have a hood pass. I’ve never walked into a restaurant, asked for a table and been told, ‘We’re full.’"

PLAYBOY: It is true; a lot of rappers love you. You recorded with Common and Kanye West, played live with Jay-Z.

MAYER: What is being black? It’s making the most of your life, not taking a single moment for granted. Taking something that’s seen as a struggle and making it work for you, or you’ll die inside. Not to say that my struggle is like the collective struggle of black America. But maybe my struggle is similar to one black dude’s.

PLAYBOY: Do black women throw themselves at you?

MAYER: I don’t think I open myself to it. My dick is sort of like a white supremacist. I’ve got a Benetton heart and a fuckin’ David Duke cock. I’m going to start dating separately from my dick.

PLAYBOY: Let’s put some names out there. Let’s get specific.

MAYER: I always thought Holly Robinson Peete was gorgeous. Every white dude loved Hilary from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. And Kerry Washington. She’s superhot, and she’s also white-girl crazy. Kerry Washington would break your heart like a white girl. Just all of a sudden she’d be like, “Yeah, I sucked his dick. Whatever.” And you’d be like, “What? We weren’t talking about that.” That’s what “Heartbreak Warfare” is all about, when a girl uses jealousy as a tactic.

His whole speil is very stereotypical.... not all black people like loud and obnoxious assholes...you can keep your "very"

Not all black people use the n word when referencing themselves...therefore the hood pass being called an n-pass is absolutely rediculous....

Please explain what it means to "break your heart like a white girl"....while you are at it....explain what it means to "talk white" or "act white"...

and btw...the question was if black women went after you....not if you have ever been with a black woman...

As a black woman, this jerk is an ignorant peckerwood, dork. And no I wouldn't sleep with him. He's a joke and has no respect for white women, he certainly hasn't any respect for black women.

Completely Useless. I've seen better looking white men. And to use the n word, who the hell does he think he is!

Say again?

He thinks he knows what its like to be black from listening to rap music. Idiot. I wasn't aware that we'd "carded" him as he claims. He's still whack IMO. Singing soul does not make you soulful homey. It's 2010, what daily struggle is their for blacks in general? We have the same educational opportunities, the sky's the limit. Poor people struggle, so I guess all blacks are poor in his eyes? Someone should tell him that we aren't the victims some would have you believe that we are, we're quite progressive**rolls eyes**

He went all around in circles saying that he has a bigot d*ck rather answer the initial question which was do black women throw themselves at him...to which the answer is NO

Nothing wrong with swirling, he's just not a hot ass white boy

After this interview I still seem has a douche, just now a self-concious douche

What a prick and yes I got all TMZish

Btw, I've been black all my natural born life and I've never been told that a restaurant was full, maybe a wait, but never full. The only color that matters is green.

Personally, I don't get that big deal is about his music, it sounds average at best.

I miss the days when YT acts (that somewhat had a Black following) like Duran Duran had the sense to keep sh!t like this to themselves in interviews, assuming they were this narrow in the head. Not so much Mayer used the N word but who cares about having a hood pass in their 30s. And apparently, he thinks way too hard because all the women he named as being hot have a history of dating YT men.

Wherever Jen Aniston is, I hope she no longer feels bad about losing this dude.
