Naomi Campbell Organizes Fashion Show for Haiti
Supermodel Naomi Campbell is showing her charitable side for Haiti - she's gathered the industry's top stars to hold a special runway show as part of New York Fashion Week. The British beauty has taken charge of Fashion for Relief and has called on pals including Christy Turlington and Marc Jacobs to take part in the event.
However, Campbell insists she would not have been able to organize the event at such short notice without the help of celebrity designer Charlotte Ronson - who graciously gave up her original time slot to aid the Haitian relief effort. Campbell explains, "Fashion for Relief only works if everyone comes together and makes it work."
And the supermodel's philanthropy has won her high praise from IMG Models agency boss Ivan Bart. Bart says, "Naomi is a superstar and has a lot of connections. She can make some phone calls and put on a show."
Items from the charity fashion show, which will feature a specially-designed Louis Vuitton handbag by Jacobs, will go on sale on the Net-a-Porter website in March and all proceeds will be donated to the CARE organization, which works to fight global poverty.
New York Fashion Week kicks off next week.
