Evander Kane, whose parents named him after boxer Evander Holyfield, was drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers last year and has made a big impression in the league in his rookie year. Despite some injuries throughout the season, Kane made an impact making 14 goals and scoring 26 points (includes assists) in 66 games, ranking him 12th of all time among NHL rookies in scoring.
But apparently not too many people are impressed, namely, Matt Cooke of the Pittsburgh Penguins. In the last game of the season this week, 31-year-old Penguins left wing Cooke was pestering the 18-year-old Kane during the game until the young rookie had, had enough. The brother threw off his gloves, grabbed Cooke's jersey and clocked him in the jaw, leaving him unconscious on the ice for several minutes.
