V-103 has not renewed the contract of Miss Sophia (nee Joe Taylor), who was part of the Frank and Wanda morning show.
In an interview today, Miss Sophia said he wasn’t given any real reason why the station chose to drop him beyond “we want to go in a different direction.” That’s the equivalent of saying, “It’s not you, it’s me” in personal relationships.
Miss Sophia was the first drag queen to be a regular on Atlanta radio. He spent more than four years at V-103 doing the entertainment report when Frank and Wanda remained the dominant No. 1 show in the city.
His closer has become a classic: “When I talk, you talk, we talk, that’s girrrrrl talk on the people’s station, V to the 103.” He trills the “three” with gusto.
“I’m not shocked,” Miss Sophia said. He said he saw the signs that things were coming to an end but didn’t get into details. (I’m in New York today and he was leaving town, so we’ll try to meet next week and talk in more detail.)
I left messages with Frank Ski and Wanda Smith. No responses yet.
“I’m emotionally okay,” Miss Sophia said. “I’m going to weigh my options. I can do movies. I can do TV. I can do radio.”
“I grew as a person,” he added. “I learned a lot. I met a lot of people and appreciate the relationships I built. But I’m excited about the future, too.”

Even the freak show gets old after a while.

personally, i think HE needed to go. now i think that folks should be free to do who and what they want and i know that v just wanted the huge popular gay demographic, but young kids listen in the morning and how are you supposed to explain to your young child that men should dress like men and women should dress like women when you've got that going on?
not only that, i hated the way he rolled his r's after girl talk.
the bert show is way better anyway.
i LOVED him on the frank & wanda show. i used to look forward to his part of the show. it was my dose of happiness on my way to work every morning! so sad to see him go :-(

I'm SO glad that the station decided to drop that WHOLE .. Vibe, era, or PHASE. I purposefully stopped listening to V103. I'm orginally born and raised in the A and ... My city had turn into one BIG HO spot. It used to be classy and cool. Hip and Orginal....Now it's Filled to the BRIM with want-to-bes and HOES....
Sad, but true!!! Hopefully all the fake ballers and Full time Hoes will take hint and follow suit. ----

Miss Sophia was the only reason I listened to the show cause Frank Ski is so damn lame and boring. Wanda and Sophia brought the comedic aspect too the show and I can see the show going down hill now. Even though Wanda is still there, it will never be the same.*justbeingreal*
Dumb, dumb, dumb. I live 500 miles away so I have to listen via the Net. So-so was the reason I started listening to V-103. Who's the freakin program director over there? Is the listener being considered? This really sucks! That's OK. So-so do you damn it! You will be alright because you got a whole lot of people praying for you and got your back. I heard Frank and Ryan demanding a lot of money. That's a darn shame if it's true. Just selfish of them. I knoe you hav eto get yours, but get it by stepping on someone else is not right.
truth be told the show is really boring since she/he left, and she/he was the only reason i listened to the show. first it was joyce littel, now miss sophia..mayne they need to let greg street go...all loud and stuff getting on my nerve. i personally can't listen to v-103 during 6-10. not my cup of tea. but she/he will truly be missed.
Miss Sophia Mcintosh is a STAR! I was glad to be able to hear her on V103 but never thought it was a good fit. Anyone who has seen her live knows that she is quick witted, talented, and drop dead funny! She was never fully showcased to her fullest on V103. You can still she her live at various venues in the A! Do your thang, your way Sophia!

I enjoyed listening to Miss Sophia. Frank is boring and they added Elle and she is just as boring. Everybody knows that Ryan, Wanda, and Miss Sophia are the best radio personalities on V103. I wish him well and I know he will be a success.
I really will miss Sophia, so true Ryan, Wanda, and Sophia kept it true when all three are togather. Girl talk was the best show.
When I first moved to Atlanta, I felt as if the morning radio on v103 wa very boring and annoying from Wanda's constant laugh. But i fell in love with "Girl Talk" on the spot. Miss Sophia gave my morning a jump start. It's a shamed that the ones that should be let go are still on the air. v103 has mad a big mistake by letting Miss Sophia go. She made v103 worth listening to.
I really liked listen to v-103 from Miss Sophia stand point and I miss her already .EL is boring.
Some of these comment should have been left unsaid, I know we have the right to freedom of speech but some comments were judgemental and ludacris, we also have options which is to listen to another show. Personally I like Ms. Sophia she was like a breathe of fresh air and she was orignal, look at the other morning shows recruting gay men to do their shows if you ask me it takes a brave person to do what Ms.Sophia did so hats off to you MS.SOPHIA and to my haters get a HOBBY other than hatin'.
I agree with Renee! Frank and Wanda did not make the decision to drop Sophia so i dont see why people on here hating on them! But I bet when Frank and Wanda was givin away free stuff and helping people ATL was lovin them so where is the love now ATL? Frank and Wanda is still where its at so get over it!! You nott gon listen...So What! Sophia is not worried she will continue to be blessed..BLACK PEOPLE stop tearing each other down!!! we all know that God has a plan for all of us and its now time for another chapter in Sophia life...

I miss Ms.Sophia and "Girl Talk" .... And I know this is a old post, but I still miss that part of the radio show to this day ! I hope she is doing well, 2013 is on its way ... Do your thang Ms.Sophia !!!
I AGREE, I MISS SOPHIA TOO, WOW V103 YOU WAS ON TOP, SHOWING DIVERSITY IN THE CITY BY PUTTING THE FIRST DRAG QUEEN ON ATLANTA RADIO PEOPLE STATION, WHY WOULD YOU GO IN REVERSE BY LETTING SOPHIA GO, WRONG MOVE...NOW THE SHOW IS SINKING, NO LONGER ON TOP,...PS I HOPE FRANK SKI DIDNT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS, WE KNOW HOW YOU LIKE BEING ON TOP.......CAN YOU SAY BORRRRRRRING.
