In his latest tweet to 'Team Breezy' fans and followers, Chris Brown linked to a YouTube page which leads to a video of him and Rihanna performing together two years ago.

This guy is a real talent... He has done everything that the courts have asked of him. I hope he is able to entertain again one day without everyone thinking of a youthful mistake which he is/has fulfilled his debt to society on continuing to hang above his head.
Rihanna has forgiven him and moved on with her life... If he had ANY other job, it would not have affected his work; unfortunately, people enjoy standing in judgment of others... We are only depriving ourselves of other truly great performances and musical enjoyment.

I think this performance was a source of pride for him and he wanted to remind people of what he's capable of. That Rihanna is in all of about 45 seconds of the entire performance, is just a coincidence. I remember watching this performance and thinking how great of a performer he was and I think he just wanted to remind those who had forgetten....like me. Duely noted CB.
