Insiders say Christina Aguilera blames Lady GaGa for ruining her career.
Christina Aguilera was once the chart-topper who could boast that her concerts sold out in minutes, but these she's singing a different tune.
Her latest album Bionic's only sold 200,000 copies Stateside since its June release and she's been dubbed Christina Flopiera. Oh dear.
Bizarrely, the singer's blaming Lady Gaga - who last week admitted she still uses cocaine ‘a couple of times a year' - for her dwindling sales. ‘Christina thinks fans saying she's "Gaga lite" has thwarted her success,' an insider tells Now.
‘They've slammed her latest image as a poor imitation.' Now can reveal Christina's also been forced to accept private gigs after cancelling her summer tour due to low ticket sales.
‘Christina's performing at Bar Mitzvahs and weddings,' says a source. ‘She wanted to charge £1.3 million a time but her hubby Jordan Bratman convinced her to lower it to £157,000 so she'll get more gigs.
'It's embarrassing for someone once so successful to resort to this but blaming Gaga's just crazy!'

She was tryin to steal Lady Gaga's look and make it her own, I don't understand why she would need to do that because she has a great voice, I guess her plan backfired...Oh well better luck next time....Now if only Rhianna (Or however you spell her name) can disappear like that...
WTH?...Christina STFU! You ruined your own career with the bad mediawhoring ways you promote your career. Your image has always been an issue..trying to be what you are not to try and prove your sex appeal to sell records. With the voice/talent you have, you should have used that to promote/sell yourself than trying to cut and paste Lady Gaga's persona.
Take notes from Beyonce....if you can't beat em...join them. In fact, I think Gaga forging an alliance with Beyonce distracted her career and this is why Rhianna's a** zipped right past Beyonce and Gaga in record sales, etc. Yes, that is right, Rihanna sold more than Gaga and Beyonce...don't ask me how?

She needs to get over herself! No one ruined her career,people just got tired of her ass! If she made better, age appropriate music, maybe people would care. She has a great voice, but if your music sucks ass, no one is going to really care...The music industry is a beast.

okay well 1st off xtina starves her fans of her music. she releases a new album like every 4 years and honestly unless you're a legend in the music business (which she isn't) then she should know that, in an industry as fickle as the entertainment industry you need to keep striking while the iron is hot. Thats why ppl like beyonce, rihanna, britney spears, and now gaga are able to sustain their relevancy. 2nd it is more than obvious that xtinas latest attempt of an album is a complete rip off of gagas sound and style. Xtinas strongest asset without a doubt is her unbelievable voice. So it was a huge disappointment and let down that instead of focusing on her voice on this album, she decided to resort to the use of gimmicks such as overproduced auto-tuned type of songs with cheap, over sexual, and sometimes plane disgusting lyrics. Sorry Xtina but for this one you have no one to blame but yourself! If I were you I would go back to sqaure one and try again, and this time leave the gaga style for GAGA she pulls it off way better.

Rihanna's last album "Rated R" sales were bad compared to her other albums like "Good Girl Gone Bad". & "I am sasha fierce" not only went to #1 but it outsold Rated R - So did Lady Gaga's smash hits "the Fame" & "the FameMonster". Rihanna has more number one hits (thanks to the help of Jay-z, TI, Eminem & others but) Beyonce has more #1 albums and she sold way more records than Rihanna. And gaga has only been in the game two years and she is already starting to catch up & surpass rihanna’s fleeing fame & success. For example both bey & gaga made forbes list for richest celebs of 09. bey made 87mil.and gaga made 60mil. as for Rihanna... she was nowhere to be found on the list. And beyonce's and gaga's tours were some of the top earning tours of last year, meanwhile Rihanna is giving away tickets for 10$ and she still has to cancle show after show due to low ticket sells.
If you are truly talented and know how to reinvent yourself, nobody can steal your success. Just ask Madonna and the likes thereof. The truth is Xtina never found her own image, she bit off of other artists...then when she got hot, her ass got lazy. She has a great voice, loved 'genie in a bottle'--but she used sex & gimmick to sell her music instead of her effin voice. She'd have to strip naked and do a lady godiva for anybody to notice her now. Most of these artists today have no staying power. They were created by the industry and pushed by sex appeal. Without videos & imagery, they'd all be eating top ramen.

I purchased the cd and gave it away to on eof my gay friends. You made some very vlaid points! Her music hasn't been manistream in a while. She was always changing it up, but was never settled on a exact sound. her talent is real, but is she relevant anymore?
First of all, that blond hair never looked good on you anyway. And you never had much of a style about you. So blaming someone else for not hiring the best stylist and image makeover for yourself is not going to change shyte.
She does have the chops, but she focused too much on image and in time people will get sick and tired of that...same goes for Beyonce, Rihanna and Gaga when it all boils down to it Christina does have the voice to fall back on, but like someone said earlier she has to start from scratch.....just sing and stop trying to sell sex appeal to get your music out....

I'll tell you how. When your CD ends up in the bargain basement on the 99 cent rack because no one will pay full price for it, you tend to sell more units (each CD being a 'unit'). Alot of things become more attractive when you find out they cost little to nothing.
I saw it for myself. I was abroad (during the time after her beat-down when her own popularity was waning), and was shocked to see her cd being advertised on TV for mere pennies.
Don't fool yourself. Rihanna didn't get SHIT right! I follow your posts alot BKChk, and I admit I'm disappointed to see you throwing misinformation (or misleading information) out there. She didn't 'get it right'. On the contrary, she was struggling like a BITCH to save her own reputation (and save face). She had a marketing machine strategizing behind the scenes, pulling out whatever stops they had to in order to make her look 'shinier' than she actually is. No telling how much number-fudging may have been going on.
She appeared on a show called the X-Factor not too long ago, and she performed right after Alicia Keys. To say she was mocked, panned and deservedly so because she SUCKED would be an understatement. Her performance was widely, heavily panned by the media, viewers and message boards alike. So her people went RIGHT into damage control mode. And the next day, her shit was being advertised on TV for chump change at your local Wal-Mart equivalent.
The number of units sold and how much money was actually made are two entirely different animals.
Christina did finally come up with an image that I liked...that glamourous old Hollywood look. That was a fantastic look on her. If she would just quit whining and make some music, I'd buy it. She'd still be relevant with me if she'd just put out some music. I can't STAND Lady Gaga. *Blurg* And I don't compare the two. Christina can actually sing, and is beautiful even without makeup.
I think Xtina needs to fire her image consultants, because they've not served her well over the years. Then she should keep her old hollywood look and just go do the damn singing thing. She doesn't need a gimmick.

i wont ask you how coz i know you are lying..gaga to date has sold more records (singles + albums) than both rihanna and beyonce and has done it with 2 albums..check your facts or ask people who knows..gaga is reigning right now and all have to bow down and that is a fact...

As I read this, all that I can think about is 2008 - when Gaga first hit the scene with "Just Dance." Some article compared Gaga to Aguilera, and Gaga, being new on the scene, thought that the comparison was a compliment. But Aguilera's attitude was like, "Gaga - who? Whatever."
As talented as Aguilera is, I always thought that her arrogance was one of her greatest flaws. She usually had something slick to say about other artists. Now look at her....

Anybody who "starves their fans of new music" by taking so long to record a new album does not deserve a career in the music business, lazy betch!
