Avril Lavigne's estranged husband Deryck Whibley was hospitalized after catching a beatdown in a Japanese bar.
Deryck Whibley, frontman for Canadian power pop band Sum 41, was reportedly attacked last night in Japan, and sent to hospital with injuries.Jacked from Vancouver Sun
The band posted this last night on Twitter: "Deryck Whibley was attacked in a bar last night by 3 unknown people. He is in the hospital now. Japanese police are looking into the matter."
Today, fans of the band were given a brief update via sum41. com: "It is unfortunate to say, but Deryck Whibley is still in the hospital. He was attacked late last night in Japan. We are waiting for results and we are hoping for the best. Thanks for your support."
The Ajax, Ont. native and his band are currently in Japan on tour, and had stops planned over the weekend at the Summersonic festival in Osaka.
Last week, the band pulled out of a series of American dates on the Van Warped Tour, telling fans that Whibley had a case of bronchitis and was on doctor's orders to rest his voice.

He must have done something. The Japanese are so docile they don't talk in elevators or on the subway train. They didn't start clapping during concerts until the last 20 years ago. One thing the Japanese don't like is disrespect so my guess is he did and said something that pissed the 3 people off.

You're talking about Japan before WW2. This happened after. Now tell us about Japanese culture of today which is what I'm referencing. You're talking about hand to hand combat that was created when? japans defense force is in the top 5 armies in the world and only Russia china and the us.s spend more money militarily then Japan on their military . plus i was in Tokyo last year and seen many muggings and a lot of street fight a d one stabbing . the yakuza are very much in charge of that country and are highly violent. to say the Japanese are docile is an insult to them , cause no country is docile . you canb e docile when tow of your enemies pose great threat ala china and north Korea . calling Japanese docile is basically saying the whole country is pussy
