Michael Brea Denies Killing Mom

Ugly Betty actor Michael Brea says he did not kill his mother. He claims he only killed the demon living inside her.
Michael Brea -- the small-time actor who once appeared on "Ugly Betty" -- has an explanation for (allegedly) killing his mother with a sword: "I didn't kill her. I killed the demon inside her."
In a frightening interview with the NY Daily News, from the prison ward at Bellevue Hospital, Brea explained how God came to him in his sleep and told him it was to be his last day on Earth.

He recalls how he left his apartment because a man was trying to put a curse on him, and while riding the train to Brooklyn, he explains, "I felt like Neo from 'The Matrix.' I began hearing voices and feeling powerful ... They were asking about the difference between mom and mother. It was a sign."

By the time Michael returned home he knew he was going to kill his mother. When she asked him to pour water from a pot in which she was cooking chicken, Michael attacked her with a sword, believing a demon had taken hold of her soul.

Michael says, "I was slashing my mom and I heard the police knocking on the door yelling, 'Michael, open up, Michael, open up,' but I knew they wouldn't open the door and stop me because the spirits were protecting me ... I just kept cutting her. No one could stop me. I was doing the work of God."

Brea has been charged with 2nd degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Sounds like schizophrenia to me. It usually pops up in the early 20s. It can be managed with drugs but if they stop taking them they become very dangerous to themselves and the people around them

i agree with 2:45, sounds like a schizo. what's really sad is that a lot of times in cases like this where the parents of children with mental disorders, end up being victims. i wouldn't at all be surprised if someone had told the mother previously that the boy needed professional help and she refused to believe that anything was wrong other than him being eccentric.

i work with children with behavioral problems and many times the parents don't want to believe that their child could need medication or professional help. i used to be against medicating kids until i saw firsthand how the right dosage of the right medication can make a child turn from a complete monster into the child their parents always wanted.

This dude is as crazy as a striped ape. Those eyebrows alone are enough to garner attention. Wow....the demon was not in her man. It was in you. Nutcase!!!

His eyebrows are what drew me to this story. The first thought that came to my mind when i glanced at him was this dude is flaming. My jaw dropped when reading the last paragraph or so. He just kept cutting her no one could stop him *blank stare*. How evil can one person be to do such a thing and feel no remorse for their actions. He was possessed by something wicked, this wicked unjust act had absolutely nothing to with God, what a nut job.

What's up with the Spock from Star Trek eyebrows? Is he serious?

@3:56

I'm the writer of 2:45 I have a nephew who has ODD which I'd never heard of until he was diagnosed. Some of his actions can seem schizo but he does not have hallucinations or hear voices. He does take some of the meds given to schizo patients though some work better than others. I used to be like you too until watching my nephew suffer. Mental issues can't be cured by talking, hugs, or time outs.

He should have taken the blue pill. Then his mom might still be alive.
