MILEY CYRUS' blockbuster success ripped apart her parents' marriage, The ENQUIRER has learned..
That's the REAL story behind the shocking announcement that Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce from his wife of 17 years, Tish, on Oct. 26.
And a very nasty battle is brewing over the couple's $100 million fortune.
"The fight over Miley is what tore Tish and Billy Ray apart. They can't agree on how to raise her, and it's wrecked their marriage," divulged an insider.
"Billy Ray thinks Miley is becoming a spoiled-brat monster - and he thinks it's ALL Tish's fault.
"They've had screaming matches for years."
Billy Ray has also struggled with intense jealousy over Miley's amazing accomplishments, which has also caused problems in his marriage.
"Billy Ray doesn't like that he was eclipsed by his daughter's stardom," continued another source. "He used to be the biggest star in country music and he wants his old life back."
And while the whole family has been devastated by the split, sources say it is Miley who has been taking the breakup the hardest.
She's been "devastated and blindsided" by the divorce, maintained the source.
At stake now is the family's mega-fortune - much of it the result of Miley's success.
With the steep management fees Billy Ray has received from his daughter, as well as money he's earned from his own career, he's worth around $70 million, revealed the insider.
Tish, who is currently handling the bulk of Miley's management services, is valued at approximately $30 million.
While Billy Ray fans were shocked by the recent divorce announcement, The ENQUIRER has learned that the couple's relationship has been teetering on the brink of collapse for at least two years.
