CNN anchor Don Lemon comes clean about his sexuality in a new autobiography.

The CNN anchor reveals in his upcoming memoir, "Transparent," that he is gay.
"People are going to say: 'Oh, he was molested as a kid and now he is coming out," Lemmon said in an interview with The New York Times, acknowledging that details about his personal life will probably garner more headlines than his insights on the journalism industry.
"I get it," he added.
Lemon, 45, recognized that while his sexual orientation won't be news to his colleagues, it will be to his audience – a fact that has left him "scared."
"I'm talking about something that people might shun me for, ostracize me for," he said.
And the risk is particularly great, the veteran reporter went on to explain, because he's African-American.
"It's about the worst thing you can be in black culture," Lemon told The Times, later adding, "I guess this makes me a double minority now."
Still, Lemon said he believes, "It would be great if everybody could come out," though he also realizes "it's such a personal choice."
"I abhor hypocrisy. I think if you're going to be in the business of news, and telling people the truth, of trying to shed light in dark places, then you've got to be honest," he explained.
"You've got to have the same rules for yourself as you do for everyone else."
Just a few hours after Lemon shared a link to the Times interview on Twitter, he said he was "overwhelmed by all your tweets and support!"
"Hoping this prevents more tragedies like tyler clementi's suicide," he added, referencing the 18-year-old Rutgers University student’s death last September.
"Transparent," which will be released June 16, is dedicated to Clementi.
