The US superstar is heading to the rain-lashed site in Somerset as one of the headliners on the Pyramid Stage.
Crowds arriving at Worthy Farm near Pilton are already trudging through a sea of mud. They have been descending on the site from across the UK, with a steady flow of revellers through London's Paddington Station.
Among them was a Madame Tussaud's waxwork of Beyonce, brought to the station to bid goodbye to the intrepid travellers.
Beyonce, who said she fell in love with Glastonbury Festival after watching husband Jay-Z perform three years ago, is said to have cleared her diary so she can party for the three days.
When asked whether Jay-Z would be joining her on the Pyramid Stage, Mr Eavis said: "Wouldn't it be nice? When he came before it was an absolutely fantastic success and, in a way, that's what persuaded Beyonce to come and do it. She was here before, saw the amazing response from the crowd."

@9:29 Gaga might actually need to rebuild her fan base as well because her little monsters abandoned her after her first week album sales she was only at #1 for a week then dropped 85% which was the biggest drop in billboard history people are sick of beyonce and gaga but at least beyonce had a way longer run.
