Star Jones Unleashes Her Temper

Woe to the security guard who tries to tell Star Jones where she can or cannot go.

Star Jones' diva days aren't done yet.

A source tells us the former "View" host and ex-wife of Al Reynolds "practically had a meltdown" at the Bridgehampton Polo Club at Two Trees Farm on Saturday when a security guard blocked her from stepping over a low fence around the VIP area.

Jones came to the match with an entourage of "about 10 to 12 people, plus a dog and a kid" (who we were informed was her niece). Donning proper credentials, she initially sat in the Blue Star Jets VIP area. A source close to Jones says the Hamptons regular also was given a security escort by event organizers.

But after the stomping of the divots, in which spectators are welcomed onto the field to pat loose pieces of grass back in the ground after being ripped up by hooves, things got ugly between Jones and a security guard.

The insider tells us that when a handful of guests stepped over the fence separating the VIP area from the rest of the field, the once-rotund talk show host started to vault it herself.

But the guard finally caught on to the fact that the polo partyers were getting into the VIP area via the wrong entrance. He told Jones she was "not allowed to step over the fence" and would have to go around it.

That's when she became "snarky," with the guard, telling him he couldn't speak to her that way. "I'll step over if I want to!" she said. More than one source heard Jones bellow, becoming "livid."

The uncomfortable guard, who was in his mid-20s, "didn't really know what to do," says our initial source, but stood his ground. "Sorry ma'am," the insider says he politely replied, with Jones forced to walk around to the proper entrance.

Sources say that's not the only time she showed her true colors Saturday. Although she seemed in a good mood around friends and celebs like Beth Stern, with whom she happily posed for a photo, she "snubbed" less-well-known polo fanciers.

It's not the first time her divalicious behavior has been documented. In June 2006, Jones was asked to leave the "View" after developing a reputation for shameless self-promotion (particularly leading up to her wedding to Reynolds in November 2004). Most recently, she clashed with "Real Housewives of Atlanta" cast member NeNe Leakes and Lisa Rinna throughout Season 4 of "Celebrity Apprentice."

Look at it this way. The story says the guard saw a "hand full of people" go over the fence and of all the people he stops star. Now most of you who are black know that if someone told you not to hop a fence after others (who were more than likely white) you would pitch a fit as well.

this is a non-story. Star is a muthaf**** star baby and no minimum-wage making ass security guard should ever step to her like that. He probably didn't say diddly squat to all those white folks hopping the fence but just had to get in Star's face. He better be glad she didn't cuss him the hell out. The white media hates a confident black woman.

Naw. Star showed her butt on this one and she's riding alone as far as I'm concerned. All that emotion over something so small (SMH). Yeah, it was messed up that Mr. rent-a-cop didnt check the white folks at the door but Star was stupid for trying to brake the rules herself and doing all those unnecessary antics because she got caught. Childish, to say the least. This the type of stuff that makes black folks everywhere look stupid and Star receives no support from me unless she's in trouble over this. Like momma told a lot of y'all when you was youngins', two wrongs don't make a right.Simple and plain.
