The stars dated for two years before their split in 2002 and Common admits the break up hit him hard - because Badu was his first real love.
In an appearance on America’s The Wendy Williams Show, he recalls, "She handed it to me. I was in my hotel room on tour and... she called me and was like, ’Hey, I don’t wanna be in this relationship no more. I’m liking somebody else (sic).’" Badu, who previously dated Outkast’s Andre 3000, went on to have a child with another rapper, The D.O.C., but Common refuses to hold the harsh let down against the On & On hitmaker - and insists they are now good friends.
He says, "That was my first love and my first heartbreak, but it taught me a lot of things, and when it happened I kinda really got into myself and really learned about myself and I was able to move on, and now me and E is real cool (sic)." Common also reveals he’s close to another ex-girlfriend after ending his on/off romance with tennis star Serena Williams for good earlier this year (11).
He adds, "We’re just friends now."

Well Common my dude. I like that he can spit but make conscientious stuff. However, he can also get ratchet if a nigga try him. Anyway, I don't believe any nigga out is still friends with his exes of any status (girlfriend, wife, lover). I think when niggaz say that he just mean, " I don't hate that bitch."
Erykah does not fit that earth mother image at all that she was spitting now she like to walk down the street completely naked. In some ways she acts like a mother of 3 and other ways she doesn't

Actually 9:02, I'm good friends with one of my exes. We've hung out several times, we call each other periodically and when we start dating someone else, we sometimes introduce the new person. He was a total bastard when we were dating, but I've found that a lot of dudes that were terrible boyfriends make the best homeboys later.

I don't have a problem with any of my exes. Its just that other dudes don't dig it to tough when the old boyfriends start hanging around. So i don't call or anything but if i do run into them i do speak.
Ladies, I said niggaz, as in dudes. I think the only reason they talk to y'all afterward y'all had y'all time is because they wanna get back together. Cats dont don't wanna be just friends with women they wanna sleep with or have gotten to certain level of intimacy with. That's mental torture, it's like being a monkey tryna grab the moon.
