Leonardo DiCaprio turned down the starring role opposite Beyonce in the 'A Star is Born' remake.
Beyoncé, who shocked the world by announcing her pregnancy at the VMAs, was set to start production on the musical remake of A Star Is Born reportedly as early as this coming February.Jacked from E Online
Seeing that she'll probably be giving birth right around then, it doesn't seem exactly feasible.
So what's the plan for the movie?
Most likely, the movie will still star the mama-to-be, according to Deadline.com. But sources close to the production say the film could be pushed back after she's had her little one.
With the baby news, the pushback allows the studio time to find a leading man for the Clint Eastwood-directed project, after his first pick, Leonardo DiCaprio, passed on the role. Names still in the running for the leading man role opposite the singer include Christian Bale and Will Smith.
Beyoncé was cast in the role previously played by Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland. We think she'll hold her own just fine.

What the hell did Bey do? Toss Clint Eastwood's salad and tickle his balls simultaneously! I can't believe Clint made this kind of decision, knowing full well the broad CANNOT act if her life depended on it. I had so much respect for Clint as an actor and a brilliant director till he fucked around and did this senile shit here. A Star is Born is a classic film and only a strong actress can hold it. It's not just singing, it's a pretty dramatic role and the end will bring you to tears. Leonardo has a great track record in the industry and a Scorcese favorite...I don't blame him for 86'ing this shit. I hope he ran with smoke trailing his ass. I'd rather have a real actress playing the part that lip synced to someone elses tracks....then to see Bey fuck up a great film.
He has a reputation as a good actor to uphold. She'd just make him look bad and his career would be marred for life because of it. Smart move on his part for recognizing a flop early on.

Same thing with Brad Pitt and the Benjamin Button movie. Beyonce tried to get the role of his adopted mother and Brad said that he would pass on the role unless they got a real actress. Hence, T.P. Henson who was great!

Who has dared to call her an actor? She is HORRIBLE! and I don't blame him. Obviously, Clint wants to capitalize off of what he(and countless others) believes to be a beautiful woman, bc as a vetern actor, he knows talent. Her acting (if you can call it that) is comical at best.
I'm loving all of these comments - they reflect everything I was thinking. but I didn't know about the Brad Pitt/Benjamin Button part. Off Topic but: I LOVE that movie, and watched it two weeks ago. They did an awesome job at making him appear younger and younger and I wondered how they did that scene when he came back looking really young to see his "wife" in the dance studio. Just yesterday, I watched Meet Joe Black and BINGO!!! They used his (Brad Pitt) face from a scene in Meet Joe Black in the dance studio scene in Benjamin Button (made years later). Back on topic: Yeah.. any true actor that respects his craft would not do a film with her because she cannot act. I was surprised when Idris Elba did that film with her. Off topic again. He is SO HOT!!! - Well actually so is Leo and Brad - LOL
