Did Shia LaBeouf Have it Coming?

When actor Shia LaBeouf got into a bar fight in Vancouver earlier this week one person from the set of his new movie wasn't surprised.
Was Shia LaBeouf's Vancouver bar fight inevitable?

According to a crew member on "The Company You Keep," the film the actor's currently working on, the bad behavior that LaBeouf, 25, exhibited wasn't exactly unexpected.

"These things can happen when Shia's been drinking. He can turn nasty so fast," the crew member told the Chicago Sun-Times. "He's like Sean Penn. One moment he can be totally charming, and then he'll lose it and go off on someone -- especially when it's a nut in a bar who is looking for a fight."

The source goes on to say that LaBeouf's behavior might be something he picked up on the set of one of his biggest films.

"I think it stems largely from him seeing how [‘Transformers' director] Michael Bay treats everyone like s---," he said. "Shia's totally copied his demeanor in so many situations. He even comes up with the same insults as Michael when he's putting someone down."

If that is the case, it doesn't seem to be working out for LaBeouf.

Last week, he was laid out on the sidewalk outside of Vancouver's Cinema Public House, allegedly after being insulted by a patron inside the bar.

The pair tangled on the street and LaBeouf ended up on his back taking punches from the man before his friends came to his rescue and then tried to talk him down.

According to the on-set source, the taunting was "something Shia should have just ignored. The actor, it seems, is too delicate to let things roll off his back.

"Unfortunately," the source said, "he let the guy get under his thin skin."

Did Shia have it coming? Probably. And I didn't have to watch the video.
