Pink to Play a Sex Addict in New Movie

Pink stars as a sex addict in a new film starring Gwyneth Paltrow.
Gwyneth Paltrow has yet another BFF potential: Pink!

The singer and new mom, 32, has been cast as a sex addict alongside Paltrow, 38, Mark Ruffalo and Tim Robbins in sex-addiction comedy Thanks for Sharing.

"[Pink] could not be a more ideal fit for this role," first-time director Stuart Blumberg told Entertainment Weekly. "She carries with her just the right combination of heart and edginess for the part of Dede, and we're incredibly excited to share her acting talent with audiences."

As "Dede," the star (real name: Alecia Moore) plays a "free spirited" sex addict who bonds with a young man named Neil (Josh Gad).

The "Raise Your Glass" singer, who welcomed first daughter Willow Sage with hubby Carey Hart in June, has indeed acted before, with appearances in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Rollerball, Catacombs and Happy Feet Two.

Pink was spotted on the film's set in NYC on Monday.

I find it surprising. I sometimes feel like pink is really conservative hiding under a free/progressive/whore-yourself-out attitude. Good for her I guess.
