Dancer Casper started working on singer Jen's world tour six months ago, but in recent weeks the pair have been getting to know each other on a series of dates.
They have been spotted partying in Las Vegas and leaving hotels after nights together.
A pal of the dancer said: "Casper said J-Lo has an amazing body and she's in better shape than any other girl he's ever been with.
"He said she's got the body of a 20-year-old. They're inseparable right now.
"It's just about sex — and no one's sure if it has much of a future. But he's having a good time finding out."
A source close to J-Lo confirmed their relationship has developed into "a fun fling", adding: "They're dating and having a good time."
Sources say Casper, of Anaheim, California, is a ladies’ man who has dated a string of beautiful women and dances topless in front of screaming female fans at a Hollywood club.
One source said: “J-Lo obviously found his charms hard to resist. With an 18-year age difference, I doubt they have much in common.
“But who needs conversation when you have that physical chemistry.”
Mum-of-two J-Lo split from singer Marc Anthony, 43, four months ago after seven years of marriage.
Her previous one-year marriage to dancer Cris Judd, 42, ended in 2002.
