Kris Humphries Promoting Vegas Party

Kris Humphries isn't letting a little divorce get him down, he's hosting a party in Vegas this weekend.

In the days following a very public split, many men would want to do nothing but retreat to the couch in their sweatpants with a couple of close friends to console them. Not Kris Humphries.

Life & Style has learned that the NBA player is forging ahead with plans to host a party at a Las Vegas nightclub this Saturday, Nov. 5, even after his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, filed divorce papers on Oct. 31, after 72 days of marriage.

"His people have confirmed he's still coming, even in the wake of this divorce announcement," a club insider tells Life & Style.

And it won't be a quiet affair! "It's one of those super late-into-the-night parties -- it's called Butterfly at Chateau Gardens, and it's on the rooftop of the [Paris Hotel's replica] Eiffel Tour," a source tells Life & Style. "There will be a red carpet, which will start at 11:30 p.m.
and Kris will probably arrive around midnight. It'll run into the early hours of the morning.

"It's a whole event, and it's just out of this world -- a bunch of [costumed] characters who come out into the crowd, like butterflies with crazy wings and a horse-man. It's a completely wild party."

Kim announced on Oct. 31 that "after careful consideration," she had decided to end her marriage.

The news seemed to come as a surprise to Kris, who had been visiting his parents in his hometown of Lake Minnewashta, Minn. In a statement to Life & Style via his rep, he said: "I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce. I'm committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work."
