Pop star Britney Spears got engaged over the weekend. How does her engagement ring stack up next to other celebrities?
Britney Spears accepted her long-time beau and former agent Jason Trawick's marriage proposal this week. She and her groom-to-be celebrated their engagement at his 40th birthday party at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Brit told her Twitter fans she was 'still glowing' after he proposed. There's been no word on cost of the ring. And we're not saying it's not a pretty ring because it is. But Britney is (or was) the Princess of Pop. So how does Spear's engagement ring stack up -- carat-wise -- to other famous females?
According to the Celebrity Bride Guide, Beyonce got an 18-carat diamond ring by Lorraine Schwartzdiamond ring from Jay-Z that's worth more than $5 million. Musical diva Mariah Carey younger hubbyNick Cannon gave her a Jacob and Co. 17-carat diamond worth is estimated at $2.5 million. Edgy jeweler Stephen Webster designed Britney's Mouskateer buddy Christina Aguilera's 5-carat diamond ring bought by her manager Jordan Bratman. And Katy Perry's sporting a 12-13-carat round brilliant cut diamond ring that cost her hubby Russell Brand a reported $1.3 million.

Marriage is not about how big the diamond is ask any couple that has been together 20 to 30 years. After everything that has been publicized about Brittney she is lucky she could find someone to love her.
I'm sure she appreciates this ring much more than the others that she bought for herself.
She has been through so much with past failed marriages that maybe she could care less about the size or the cost. Its time we get back to the REAL reason people get married. For love and not a big azz ring that i would be scared to wear out in public! Go Britney so happy for you girl!
Good luck and congratulations Britt...remember having a man/husband,does not complete you....women should be a whole person before and during the marriage,so that if the marriage goes sour...you will come out whole,not broken,like with fedderline.I speak from my own personal experience with allowing a relationship break me...don't give all of yourself away....it's too bad we can't trust people....
This man has stood by her through thick and thin. She was aware when she dated him that he could never provide her luxury. I think she is happiest with the emotional support he gives. I love the ring. Sometimes too much of something can take away the elegance of an item. The ring is beautiful and delicate, just like Britney.
