George Michael Incoherent at the Brit Awards

George Michael appeared drunk and flubbed his lines at the Brit Awards.
George, 48, who almost died from pneumonia last November, appeared incoherent and slurred his words as he handed Adele the best album prize.

The former Wham! singer repeated himself, and fluffed his lines badly when he said the award was sponsored by Barclaycard, not MasterCard.

His appearance sparked a flurry of comments online.

Host James Corden wrote: "Was George Michael drugged up? His speech was slurred and he looked a mess."

Radio DJ Toby Anstis asked: "Just slurring your words or was it a Careless Whisper?"

Others joked about the sponsor's ad slogan, saying: "George Michael mentioning Barclaycard when presenting a MasterCard Brit award — priceless."

But agents said the star was still recovering after his illness, and was jet-lagged after flying back specially from Australia to present the award to Adele, whom he "greatly admires".

George's spokeswoman said: "He was completely sober."

I fear that he's next...he almost died 2 months ago but his drugging, drinking, and sleeping with any Tom, dick, and Harry in the park will not end well. I'm surprised he made it this long.

Sad, he was the last big global star from the 80's.

Shame, how he has conducted himself these last 15 years starting with that soliciting from an undercover cop.

Another Whitney in the making?

I don't feel sorry for this guy at all. He's put too many other people at risk.
