Arrest Warrant Issued for Russell Brand

An arrest warrant has been issued for Russell Brand for smashing a photographer's iPhone.
A Russell Brand arrest warrant has been issued over the star’s run-in with a paparazzi on Monday. During the Russell Brand iPhone incident, the star allegedly grabbed a photographer’s cell and threw it through a nearby window.

A misdemeanour arrest warrant for Russell Brand was issued by the New Orleans Police Department over the iPhone toss after the photographer filed a police report against the actor. Brand is currently still in new Orleans in production on a film set.

Timothy Jackson, the photographer named in the police report on the iPhone incident, claims he was takingphotos of Russell Brand from his car window using his iPhone. Brand then allegedly became angry, grabbed the phone and then slammed it through the window of a nearby law firm. Photos taken by other paparazzi of the incident do seem to back up the photographer’s story.

Brand, meanwhile, took to Twitter to post his views of the run-in with the paparazzi. On the official Russell Brand Twitter feed, the former Katy Perry beau blamed the incident on his love of former Apple CEO Steve Jobs. “Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iphone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory.”

So far Brand’s reps have refused to comment about the warrant or how the Get Him to the Greek star plans on dealing with his little brush with the law. Brand’s reps have reportedly said, however, that he is willing to pay for the damage to the window. The iPhone was returned to the photographer at the scene.
