And of course, it was, according to a representative speaking to the Mail Online on behalf of the 20-year-old.
Spokespeople for her parents Demi Moore and Bruce Willis had been been bombarded with calls after the incendiary tweets exploded across the internet this afternoon.
But astonishingly, it transpires that the account - which was disabled today - was part of a final project for the Ivy League student, who is ensconced at Brown University.
As unlikely as this may seem as an academic experiment at one of the finest academic establishments in America, the spokesperson told People magazine that Scout and two other students created the fictitious account to test a theory.
The spokesperson said: 'In connection with a class assignment, in which students were asked to create a 'culture jam' or 'hoax,' three students created a satirical and fabricated Twitter account in which everything tweeted was fictional.
Richardson, 46 , also featured in a snapshot with Scout on the site wearing his trademark checked shirt, and he has just been linked to Lindsay Lohan, 26.
The messages under the Twitter handle @bougpunk would have perhaps gone unnoticed had a blog called IvyGate.com not linked them to Willis.
'Scout has shared some insanely graphic accounts of her personal life,' claimed the blog, citing such posts as: 'I hate capitalism like I hate my parents, but they both serve me so well.'

Capitalism is a monster for real and is deeply surrounded my selfish, self indulged people who has sold there sold to the devil to not only have money but to be around money but these people have not standards or boundaries so they are destructive company to keep.
