The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively that Lamar’s dad, Joe Odom, LIED about having served in Viet Nam while in the U.S. Army – on his son and daughter-in-law’s TV show.
On the March 18 episode of “Khloe & Lamar,” the senior Odom opened up to his son about his past, claiming that he was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
He also said the PTSD was the result of his tour of duty in Viet Nam. JOE, 58, told Lamar that when he was overseas, Joe Odom watched his platoon get wiped out and he was forced to hide in a foxhole filled with dead soldiers to survive.
What’s more, Joe blamed his longtime heroin addiction – which caused him to be an absentee father for most of Lamar’s life – on his PTSD. But according to Joe’s official military records, which The ENQUIRER has obtained, he NEVER left U.S. soil during his time in the Army.
In fact, he worked as a cook – not as an infantryman – from Feb. 27, 1971, to April 20, 1973, when he was discharged. And Mary Schantag – Chairperson of the POW Network – says the closest Joe Odom ever got to Viet Nam was Fort Dix, N.J.!
“The record summary on Joe’s paperwork shows service ONLY in the United States – no combat tour, combat medals, or ‘in Vietnam’ medals are shown,” stated Schantag.
After leaving Fort Dix, Joe was sent to Fort Huachuca, Ariz., and finally to Fort Riley, Kan. His position was listed as “cook.”
A private investigator who has experience exposing phony veterans was stunned that Odom was bold enough to lie on national TV.
“He should be ashamed of himself,” said the investigator.
“What he did is completely disgusting and disrespectful to the men and women who have actually served overseas and were hurt or died for their country.
“What’s worse, it appears as if Khloe and her producers may have put these false claims on the air without making any effort at all to verify them. If that is true, it’s unconscionable!”
The latest embarrassment is sure to thrust Lamar and Khloe’s already rocky relationship into a complete tailspin, say insiders.
“Imagine how he’s going to feel when he realizes his father’s been lying about his whole life,” said a source.
“Lamar resented that Joe chose heroin over him – and he wasn’t eager to let his dad back into his life but finally re¬lented because Khloe begged him to.
“The bottom line is Joe Odom IS a disgrace,” concluded Schantag.

Yes, being a cook in the military is a bottom of the totem pole job. But what's even lamer than being a cook is lying about being in a war zone when you weren't. So not only is Lamar unemployed, but his father is an all around drug addicted liar!

Lamar must know absolutely NOTHING about his father. Wouldn't someone in his family know if Joe had really went to Viet Nam or not and let Lamar know before the episode was aired? I don't watch the show so I don't know if the rest of his family are on the show or not. The producers of the show might have known Joe had never went to Viet Nam but let it slide to bring more drama to the show.

Serving as a cook in the Military was sometimes the only job they would let Blacks have in WWII. Do ur history before making dumb ass statements. It does not depend on smarts it is a viable job like any thing else. Please, stop with that.
