Book Claims Marilyn Monroe Was Attracted to Women

The author of a new book claims Marilyn Monroe seduced her when she was just sixteen.

A new book to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's death has revealed how the blonde bombshell was sexually attracted to women.

Marilyn Monroe: My Little Secret, told by Jane Lawrence to author Tony Jerris, reveals how the Fifties sex symbol seduced a 16-year-old girl who started the actress' first fan club at 20th Century Fox.

In recollections told to Mr Jerris, Ms Lawrence reveals how the then 29-year-old actress 'leaned in and kissed me full on the lips, very softly and very slowly. I was nearly hyperventilating.'

Ms Lawrence also reflects upon her fondest memories of the screen goddess, how she became the superstar's confidante, whom Marilyn used to call, 'my little secret,' while also exposing the sexual relationship she shared with her as a teenager.

The author, who was introduced to Ms Lawrence through a mutual friend in 2001, told RadarOnline: 'Jane met Marilyn when she was 12 because her adopted father ran the legal department at RKO studio.'

'They soon became close friends after realizing that they had been in the same orphanage at different times of their lives, even though Marilyn was 14 years older, and neither of them knew their birth fathers,' he added.

'They became close friends because there were so many similarities in their past. Jane always struggled with her sexuality, she talked to Marilyn about this many times and she was very understanding. She told her, "Whatever your sexual preference is, it means nothing - love is love."'

While the then teenager had had encounters with other girls before, she explains how one night in 1955, the Gentlemen Prefer Blondes star completely altered her view of 'sexual experiences'.

She went over to Marilyn's Los Angeles apartment to help her line some shelves, she says the evening quickly went from home decor to something much more intimate.

In her recollections, Ms Lawrence reveals that the actress had taken the prescription drug Nembutal, while drinking was champagne, by the time she arrived.

'The champagne makes me happy. The pill makes me happier faster,' Marilyn told her.

While measuring paper for her shelves, Ms Lawrence says she was taken aback when her idol suddenly kissed her on her thigh, with a 'mischievous twinkle in her eye'.

Ms Lawrence says in the memoir: 'The next few minutes became hazy, surreal and dream-like. My pulse leaped as Marilyn kissed my thigh again... she then leaned in and kissed me full on the lips, very softly and very slowly. I was nearly hyperventilating.

'We moved through the living room into the bedroom,' she reveals.

As their passion escalated, she explains how 'Marilyn used her tongue, lavishly flicking and licking, an entirely new sensation for me. With the girls I had enjoyed sex with, there was often a shyness and hesitancy, not the hunger and confidence Marilyn displayed.'

Mr Jerris said that the experience confirmed to Ms Lawrence that she was gay, and as she got older she had relationships with other girls, along with several more sexual experiences with Marilyn.

However Ms Lawrence doesn't believe that Marilyn was a lesbian.

'

She was just a free spirit. She was a very open person.' she says.

Despite the pair's working relationship with the actress developing into a sexual friendship, they remained close friends for ten years, up until Marilyn's death at age 36.

Told in Ms Lawrence's voice, Marilyn Monroe: My Little Secret is a story of a now elderly woman and her fondest memories of an icon.

According to the book, Ms Lawrence invited Marilyn down to Coronado near San Diego the week before her death for some rest and recuperation with her family, but the actress refused. Ms Lawrence tells how instead of being able to save her friend, she has been forced to mourn her for the rest of her life.
