Tom Arnold, who has not been in the same room with his ex-wife Roseanne Barr since their bitter divorce 15 years ago, stunned the actress when he showed up for her Comedy Central Roast.
Comedy Central pulled out the big guns for their roast of Roseanne Barr on Saturday evening (August 4, 2012), with the actress' ex-husband Tom Arnold taking to the stage to mark the first time the pair had been in the same room as each other in nearly two decades.
A network representative told Yahoo! that Arnold's appearance didn't come about until right beforethe taping began. The couple completed a very public divorce in 1994, though Arnold's comments were mostly positive throughout the roast. The actor told the audience, "We have not been in the same room for over 17 years.Is this really the best format to do this? Getting together with your ex at a roast?". Roseanne took the appearance in good spirits, saying, "I'd really like to thank Tom for showing up. It was very brave and he was very funny.But Jesus Christ, how many jobs do I have to get that guy?". The roast was a fairly tame affair, and included stars Carrie Fisher, Sharon Stone, Seth Green and 'Glee' actress Jane Lynch as host. Arnold's appearance remained the evening's highlight, and he referred to Roseanne's big break on the 'Tonight Show' with Johnny Carson, saying, "Roseanne you were my Johnny Carson.Thank you for your thumbs up and for letting me sit on your couch for a little bit".
Prolific tweeter Roseanne appears to have ended her feud with Arnold, telling followers, "If I can bury my roiling, boiling ceaseless hatred for Tom Arnold.maybe there is a chance for world peace".Jacked from Contact Music
