Utah Station Bans The New Normal

A Utah television station is refusing to air The New Normal branding the show inappropriate.

NBC Utah affiliate KSL-TV has pulled the upcoming Ryan Murphy sitcom "The New Normal" from its fall lineup, calling the series as "inappropriate on several dimensions."
The show, which follows a mother who serves as a surrogate for a Los Angeles-based gay couple, stars Justin Bartha, Ellen Barkin and Georgia King. It's set to debut on Sept. 11 on NBC at 9:30 p.m. ET. But Utah's KSL-TV doesn't want anything to do with it during "family viewing-time."
"From time to time we may struggle with content that crosses the line in one area or another," Jeff Simpson, CEO of the station's parent company Bonneville International, told The Salt Lake Tribune. "The dialogue might be excessively rude and crude. The scenes may be too explicit or the characterizations might seem offensive."

Society has lost all morals. It's okay to subject their children too homosexuality but not everyone else's children.

Not everyone agrees with this lifestyle. Shows like this appear on the cable channel. The message is vile. Union is between a man and a woman.

It's not normal to exchange body fluids with the same sex. Nor will it ever be normal!

Attack my post! What's the typical response "you don't have to watch it"! News flash I won't!

I would like to watch football/local news without being bombarded with the commercial.

I have family members who live like this. They know the deal. Don't bring that mess around us.

Its the devil way and his seed to corrupt if you do not have self control and will power then they will kick in your door. They don't respect values and but there to be respected so much the best remedy for all of this is to not bring television into you home and no one can control your viewing pleasures.

We are reverting back to the days of Babylon if your comprehension is a little confused. There will be Whores in the street and Men with no self-control and Children with no standards.
The Normals...lol... this is the kind of life and world that many think that they want but everything has a way of fliping on you.

Just about everything on tv is inappropriate today. I took control of my household and got rid of the tv's. My family spends more time with each other doing other activities. I suggest those who care about their children's viewing to do the same.

So true. I think I read on this site an individual said the devil isn't real. Were delusional.

Both of us aren't deceived by the devil. The sexual sadism, killing parents, shooting and robbing individuals isn't normal it's evil.

Oh please, this doesn't look like a show kids would want to watch anyway, but the last time I checked you were either an idiot or a bad parent if you let your child get all their morals from TV anyway. There are way worse shows kids could be watching, 16 and pregnant, teen mom, Jersey Shore, basketball wives, love and hip hop and on and on. Hate to break it to you but banning this one little show isnt going to do a damn thing. And who are they to decide if the show is inappropriate what about the adults who pay their cable bills who want to watch the show? How are you going to just decide what they can and can't watch

It's funny how you address a commentator's belief as "stupidest". What does that make you? Since when is someone's belief stupid?

If you are offended why comment? Yes you are offended why spend so much time pointing out what you believe is not true? NOW THAT IS STUPID.

Dumb-ass this is not the only website were commentator's talk about heaven and hell.

Actually, yes. I am a believer in a Supreme Being (which I believe is represented in the Bible), and I am agnostic when it comes to Aliens/other lifeforms. I do wonder if we are not the only intelligent life (or just life in general) in the universe.

I would say that this show will probably be like all the other shows that debut on NBC, but since there's a homo story plot it may go farther. You know Hollywood is ran by Homo-Zionist/Jews.

And I agree that while this plot seems inappropriate, there are plenty of inappropriate shows on television anyway. This KLSTV or whatever is wrong for regulating what people want to watch. It's an individual's personal responsibility as to what they watch and what they want their children to watch. People need to take charge of their OWN lives and stop waiting for someone to tell them what to do.

Good for you NBC Utah. I've got your back just like I've got Chik Fil A's back. Stop with the gay stuff. Gays are mentally ill.

Nubz Nene had about three lines. SHe delivered them OK I guess but what she said and did wasnt much of a stretch for her anyway. There were also two references right off the top about her being a thief. Now being someone's personal assistant IS a stretch. Overall the show had a one or two funny bits. Personally it's painful for me to watch Ellen Barkin, she looks constipated so often but she had the better lines. The couple don't "mesh" for me. I am not buying it for the most part. And another odd thing was that the less flaming gay guy was a gynecologist-- uhm wha? Look I know it's possible that there are gay male gynecologists but really? I couldn't work out what the bottom did but of course he was "fabulous", he is the one that has Nene as his assistant too. To sum it up I am gonna say it's basically an updated version of "All in the Family".
