Lindsay Lohan's publicist quits after a fight with Lindsay's father over Lindsay's intervention.

Lindsay Lohan's longtime publicist Steve Honig must've finally come out from under hypnosis, found out what his job really was, and screamed like little Drew Barrymore in "E.T."

The man with the worst job in Hollywood -- and that includes the guy who cleans the restrooms at the Crazy Horse strip club -- has emancipated himself from Lindsay Lohan.

Honig's last straw was dealing with Lohan's father, Michael, who told TMZ he butted heads with Honig in the weeks leading up to his failed intervention with Lindsay last week. The freckles hit the fan last weekend, when Honig released a statement saying Lindsay's management team had nothing to do with Michael's plans for an intervention.

Michael apparently went nuts, calling him a "(expletive) liar" in a text message.

Sources said Honig quit Thursday, after two years of the bubbling hell that is being Lindsay Lohan's publicist.
