Nicole Kidman and Lee Daniels Argue Over the N-Word

Director Lee Daniels and Nicole Kidman got into a fierce argument over her refusal to use the N-word in Lee's new erotic thriller 'The Paper Boy'.
Nicole Kidman got into a heated argument with director Lee Daniels on the set of new erotic thriller The Paperboy after refusing to use a derogatory term included in the script.
The actress, who plays prisoner John Cusack's lover in the upcoming movie, pushed her boundaries to the limit by filming three controversial scenes in the first three days of production.
However, Kidman drew the line when it came to using the word "n**ger" and her stance caused major tension with her boss.
Daniels tells the New York Post, "Her character was supposed to say the N-word, and she wouldn't say it. I was angry. My producer tells me, 'Are you serious? She bends over a washing machine and takes it from John Cusack in the first day, she has telepathic sex with Cusack in prison on the second day, she urinates on Zac Efron on the third day, and you're angry because she won't say the N-word?
"Give the girl a break.' I said, 'Alright.'"

I'm sure she appreciates you all putting this out there so when the film is seen and she uses the N word we all will no she didn't really want to do it. a tisket a tasket.

All im saying is, can they come up with a new word already. , apes and niggers this and niggers that have 0 effect on a majority of new generation blacks. Racists lack creativity, they should at least be original with the insults. I yawn everytime racist trolls surf black blogs with nigger rants or black people are this or that rants.

Anyway, I like Nicole, shes a good actress, obviously for politically correct reasons im sure that scene will be cut as it should be

I respect Nicole Kidman...but filming is an art and she knew she was filming with Lee Daniels, who is controversial in all the SENSE of black characture in film: Monster's Balls and Precious...I mean his films are dark and grimmey...she had to know she was "walking a fine line" in taking this role/part. All of his films are to made to shock and awe, and in most cases Oscar worthiness for some strange reason.....Say the "N" word and get it over with or don't film in his movies. When you sign up to work with Lee, these things would had been told to her and expected! PERIOD!

She might feel a certain type of way about the word since her son is black

I don't blame her. Same reason why Denzel refused the sex scene with Julia Roberts in the Pelican Brief. A movie is a movie, your CAREER is what you still have to keep up after that ONE movie ends. To me it would seem that it would make her stoop too low.

she smart, dont say it ,plus they're so many other words you can use to insult someone

She has a son that is African- American. I understand why she wouldn't say it.

Lee Daniels is a weird motherfucker.

Hallie taking it from that greaseball Billy Bob Thornton
Precious now a synonym for overweight black girls.
Now...he wants white people to say nigger?

What kind of freaky stuff is this man into? Someone check his basement and dig up his backyard.

shes a mother of a black child...so why would she wanna say that...acting or not, shes doing her part to stop the hate in hollywood...something blacks just wont do. and im black saying this. GO NICOLE!

offcourse Lee is weird, he's a fruitcake, they're all weird and dark.

Atta girl Nicole! The mother of a black son doesn't want to say a word that is so offensive to herself, her son and so many other people in the name of art.
Since I'm a black mother and I can relate and the director (who is black) wants the word said so badly I will oblige. Nigger shut the fuck up and sit the fuck down! Feel better now?

Yes, yes, yes. It's about time white people started acting like they have some sense--but it's noted that it takes a woman in another country to show 'em how it's done.

I've never been much of a fan of hers, but Kudos! Usually when white people say it, black people in general are up in arms. Now that she won't do it, it's a problem? It's a damn shame that a white artist is taking a stand most black artists wont, but should.

So how can black actresses be comfortable saying it in movies... We've got to do better.

Good for you, Nicole. Now... if only African Americans can refuse to say it. Mr. Daniels, you ought to be ashamed of yourself.

Don't try an blame this problem on Black people. Black people have no power so it means nothing when we use the N-word.

White people don't like it because they can't use the word the way we can. They need to get over it (or relinquish some power!).

And there's no reason for Daniels to be ashamed. He's trying to make a point in a movie. He's just not going to make that point with Nicole (my girl).

@7:48 pm
yup. Just like all of his other movies. Monster's Ball should have been a Lifetime Movie of the Week.
Hallie Berry got an Oscar for putting her booty up in the air like a bitch in heat. Precious was a joke in black people. WTF is wrong with Lee Daniels. How come all of the "powerful" black men in Hollywood are fairies.
