Adele's Estranged Father Desperate to See His Grandson

Powerhouse singer Adele's father walked out on her when she was three, but now he wants to make it up to her by being a proper grandfather to her son.

When Mark Evans heard that his daughter was expecting her first child, he was understandably overjoyed and excited.
But for the estranged dad of singing sensation Adele, 24, the cherished moment was tainted by the realisation that he is unlikely to ever see his grandchild.
Mark, who had walked out on his daughter when she was aged three, was told the news about her pregnancy by her beloved gran Rose.
In an exclusive interview with the Sunday Mirror, Mark said: “Mum rang and said, ‘Mark, I’ve got some important news for you. Adele is expecting a child’.
“My first reaction was a surge of happiness for her. But as we chatted about how Adele had told her in person, it dawned on me that my daughter hadn’t wanted to tell me herself.
“My happiness for her turned to gloom because I realised I really was out of the picture as far as she is concerned.
“I would have loved so much to have been able to hold her in my arms and tell her how happy I was for her.
“I want more than anything to be part of her life again and to be a big part in my little grandson or granddaughter’s life. I’m having to face up to the fact that I may never get to know my grandchildren and it is breaking my heart.”

I wonder if he attempted to reach out to her before she became famous. I imagine if he were truly serious about being a grandfather and making amends, he'd be better off reaching out to her directly.

Some people just live to use people.

If I were her I'd give him a little money talk to him maybe once a month. Only because he my father.

The moment you sell stories to the tabloids you've ended any possibility of having a relationship. Obviously he's more focused on getting a little change than keeping his mouth shut and waiting for her to come around. If you're willing to sell this story then he'd also be willing to sell the story about things she might tell him in confidence if she tried to reunite with him.
