Beyonce attempts to upstage Katy Perry by dropping her video the same day as Katy, but fails miserably.
Is Beyonce starting a diva war with Katy Perry? Many eyebrows were raised this week when Beyonce decided to rush release her video and single, “Pretty Hurts” on the SAME day as Katy Perry dropped her new single and video “Birthday” this past Thursday. Could Beyonce be feeling a little bit threatened by Katy’s domination of pop music right now?Here’s the facts …… Beyonce’s last single, “Partition” flopped on the charts, peaking at #23 on Billboard’s Hot 100. Perry’s last single “Dark Horse” spent several weeks at #1 on the chart and is close to selling 5 million copies.
Both ladies had #1, platinum selling albums …. But Sources say the singles that Beyonce are putting out are not the mega hits she’s grown accustomed to.
While Perry has had two #1′s from her latest album “Prism”, Beyonce has not reached the top spot with any of her singles from her self-titled CD.
So, was this chart battle planned by Beyonce’s team? We may never know. But as of press time, Perry is winning the war. The “Birthday” video is closing in on 2 million views in less than 24 hours, while “Pretty Hurts” hasn’t even hit 400,000 views yet ……Jacked from Naughty but Nice Rob

agree with the first commenter, Beyoncé visual album was release in December and broke internet records so from that point she's already outdone/outshine Katy and many other artist. So no Beyoncé already made her statement to the music industry, so no hate here stop trying to cause rival between these artist .
I find it odd than an album that broke internet records can't produce even a top 10, let alone a #1, hit. Katy is dominating the charts right now, and when Rihanna drops her new single, Beyonce better have a major publicity stunt in the works, one that outdoes the planned "surprise" album release, if she wants to try to steal any of Rihanna's thunder.

^^^SHE is not even doing that great selling albums though. I mean honestly, she may as well sell singles, what has she really accomplished when only 2 maybe 3 songs from her album are actually worth a lil something. And anyway, Katy, Riri, both put out albums. Beyonce's star is fading, all good things do come to an end. He'll if she wasn't so narsisistic, she could sat back and mentor others.
