Gwyneth Paltrow Forces Friends To Watch Her Movies

The best celebrity news stories are the ones that sound 99 percent unbelievable, but leave the one percent of doubt that makes you go, “But, really, I can almost imagine that happening.” That’s what is so great about this newest Gwyneth Paltrow tidbit. Radar Online reports that Gwyneth Paltrow made her friends watch her old movies at what an insider amazingly refers to as her “Goop Film Festival.” Supposedly, Paltrow wanted to relive the past and did so by inviting her friends and family to her Hamptons estate — probably under the false pretense that they were having quinoa stuffed kabocha — for a screening of her movies followed by a critique.

The insider says, “After the massive success of Iron Man 3, Gwyneth started hosting regular screenings of some of her old 90’s hits. including Seven, Sliding Doors and Shakespeare in Love.” So this happened more than once?! Wouldn’t you learn your lesson after the first time? What the heck was she luring them in with? 20 percent off coupons for the Goop shop?

Not only did the friends and family have to watch the movies, they also had to provide feedback. Paltrow reportedly asked guests to tell her ”what works about the movies.” Was the answer always, “You. You were the best part?” Because that is the only answer you can expect from people you forced into watching your movies.

The supposed friend continued, “Gwyneth is really just trying to re-live her glory days. The truth is, if you look at her schedule, she’s just not a full-time actor anymore, but she still wants to be treated like a screen legend.”

This is headed into full-blown Sunset Boulevard territory. The whole thing sounds made up — Doesn’t it? It’s hard to tell these days — but if it comes out that Gwyneth Paltrow is spotted sauntering around her home saying “I’m ready for my close-up,” at that point I think we’ll all be able to agree that the “Goop Film Festival” definitely happened.
