Actor Harrison Ford rushed to the hospital after an accident on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII.
May the force be with you, Han! Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII on Thursday, June 12. The hit action star, 71, who is reprising his iconic role as Han Solo, was taken to a local hospital.
“Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates," a Disney rep said in a statement to Us Weekly.
A source told The Hollywood Reporter that Ford was injured by the door to the Millennium Falcon, the ship he captains in the original films.
The highly-anticipated J.J. Abrams-directed film will feature newbies like Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o, Girls star Adam Driver, Game of Thrones’ Gwendoline Christie, and Golden Globe nominee Oscar Isaac, in addition to welcoming back original stars Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.
