Calvin Harris Defends Shutting Down Rita Ora

Music producer Calvin Harris admits blocking ex-girlfriend Rita Ora's Teen Choice Awards performance and says he had damn good reason.

This is getting intense. After Rita Ora told Ryan Seacrest that her ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris prevented her from performing their single "I Will Never Let You Down" at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday, Aug. 11, the EDM DJ took to Twitter to blast the songstress and tell his side of the story.
"You'll only know 1 side of the story RE Teen choice awards because I choose not to talk to the papers about every aspect of my personal life," the "Summer" singer and producer tweeted on Aug. 13. "But just know I had a damn good reason," he wrote, along with the waving hand emoji.
Ora told Seacrest during an interview on On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday, Aug. 12, that the rumors about Harris stopping her performance were true. "For anybody who doesn’t understand how it works, he wrote and produced the song," the "How We Do" singer explained. "So he has to approve anything TV-wise for anybody who doesn’t get it. And obviously he owns the rights to it and he didn’t approve the Teen Choice Awards."
The 23-year-old — who Us Weekly confirmed is now dating Tommy Hilfiger's son Richard — went on to say that despite having prepared for the performance a month in advance, she wasn't surprised that her now ex-boyfriend prevented her from taking the stage. "I could have got told a few weeks earlier, you know. That would have been nice. It was a last minute change, but you know what, it happens and we move on and move forward," she said. "It is what it is, man. You know, you write a song with somebody, and I guess there’s some stuff that comes with it … Everything happens for a reason, that’s how I look at it," she added.
Harris broke news via Twitter that the couple split this past June, tweeting: "To address speculation — myself and Rita ended our relationship some time ago. She is a beautiful, talented woman & I wish her all the best."

@11:18 pm i don't think she's actually popular. her pr team pays blogs and paps to follow her every move and probably buys her spots on awards shows, too. her 1st album didn't get released in the u.s. b/c of poor uk sales and b/c none of her singles charted here.

Ok so I been hearing about this story but I'm still unclear as to what his exact REASON was for not allowing her to do it...which leads me to believe he is scorned..Rita sure leaves a bad taste in her ex boyfriends mouths
