Investigators dispute Bruce Jenner's claims he was being chased by paparazzi causing a fatal car crash on the Pacific Highway.
Bruce Jenner was not being chased by paparazzi on Saturday when he crashed on the Pacific Coast Highway into a white Lexus, which was then struck by another vehicle, causing the driver to be killed, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. As Gossip Cop noted earlier, the former Olympian reportedly told authorities that he was being pursued by paparazzi when he smashed into the rear of the white Lexus, but a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says, “As of right now, there is no indication that Bruce Jenner was being chased by paparazzi at the time of the crash.”
The spokesman added, “There was a possibility that paparazzi was following him at the time of the crash, but that is a very regular occurrence, and [there’s] no indication at this time it was a contributing factor of the crash.” As Gossip Cop reported, Jenner slammed his black Cadillac Escalade into the Lexus, which had hit its brakes, causing the white car to veer into oncoming traffic, where it was hit head-on by a Hummer, resulting in the woman driving the white car to be killed on the scene. Several other vehicles were smashed up in the multi-car crash, and five kids and two adults were taken to a local hospital with varying injuries. Jenner, who voluntarily submitted to (and passed) a field sobriety test, walked away without injuries and went home afterwards.
CNN is reporting that the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has opened a vehicular manslaughter investigation, and that it will look at all parties involved in the multi-vehicle crash and not just Jenner. Gossip Cop will continue to follow and update this story.Jacked from Gossip Cop
