Kathy Griffin Quits Fashion Police

Kathy Griffin quits Fashion Police in the wake of Zendaya Giuliana Rancic controversy.

The ‘Fashion Police‘ team continues to dwindle as E! confirms that another co-host is leaving the show.
“We can confirm that Kathy Griffin is leaving E!’s ‘Fashion Police,'” the network said in a statement on Thursday night. “We wish her all the best and are grateful for her time on the show, as well as the many laughs that she gave us all.”
The news of Griffin’s departure comes just two weeks after her co-host Kelly Osbourne decided to leave the show following offensive comments from Giuliana Rancic, saying that 18-year-old Zendaya Coleman’sdreadlocks look “like she smells like patchouli oil” or “weed.”
The comedian, 54, released a statement on Twitter:
“I thought that I could bring my brand of humor to ‘Fashion Police’ so that beautiful people in beautiful dresses could be teased when appropriate. My brand of humor, while unrepentant and unafraid, is all about CONTEXT. There is plenty to make fun of in pop culture without bringing people’s bodies into it. Again people…context! Listen, I’m not saint — I’m a feminist AND a Gurrrrl who loves an offensive joke or a well-timed barb and you will find plenty in my repertoire. But I do not want to use my comedy to contribute to a culture of unattainable perfectionism and intolerance towards difference.”
She continued, “After 7 episodes of ‘Fashion Police,’ I discovered that my style does not fit with the creative direction of the show & now it’s time to move on. I Wish E! and the E! team only the best and I hope to continue to make you all laugh…”
