Pharrell Williams Claims Blurred Lines was Inspired by Miley Cyrus

Super producer Pharrell Williams testified in court that his smash hit single Blurred Lines was inspired by Miley Cyrus not Marvin Gaye.

Pharrell Williams has denied ripping off Marvin Gaye’s 1977 song Got to Give It Up with hit Blurred Lines.
Along with Robin Thicke and rapper T.I., Happy hitmaker Pharrell is being sued by Marvin Gaye’s family for similarities between the two tracks.
Speaking in court, he said it wasn’t Marvin Gaye’s work that was on his mind when he wrote the song, but Miley Cyrus’.
“I had Earl Sweatshirt in one room and Miley Cyrus in the other,” he told a Los Angeles court. “I was doing a bunch of country-sounding music with Miley.”
He added: “It was like blending this country sound with this up-tempo groove.”
The comparison to Got To Give It up was only made later during promotional interviews, he said, while accepting there was a similar “feel” between the two songs.
“Feel; not infringement,” he told the court.
While speaking about the admiration he has for the Motown Legend, Pharrell gushed: "He’s one of the ones we look up to so much.
“This is the last place I want to be right now. The last thing you want to do as a creator is take something of someone else’s when you love him.”
The case continues.

First of all, Pharrell Wiliams admitted in court he can't read sheet music; which means Chad Hugo does all of the producing. Second, Blurred Lines isn't the only song Robin Thicke plagiarized from Marvin Gaye. Listen to the song, Love After War; it sounds just like Marvin Gaye's, After The Dance.

Speaking of jacking other people's songs, the music industry is going to re-record the hit song, The Boy Is Mine with Ariana Grande and Jessie j singing the song. They continue to steal our music and disrespect our artists!

Pharrell needs to be quiet, pay the fine to the family and save some of your credibility.

Just listened to "After the dance", hot, hot, and more hot. Yes, "love after war" might have been inspired by MG too.

Elvis Presley stole Chuck Berry's moves. The Beach Boys stole Chuck Berry's song, Sweet Little Sixteen. Now you have the trust fund kid Robin Thicke stealing everything Marvin Gaye created. They hate us, but they constantly steal from us!
