Police Union Takes Aim at Ice T

Ice T is about to start having a really hard time in New York.
Police union bosses have slammed rapper/actor ICE-T after he accused New York City cops of "lying" over claims he was caught driving on a suspended licence.

On Tuesday (20Jul10), police officers stopped a car driven by the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star and his wife Coco when the couple was spotted not wearing seatbelts.

A subsequent search of police records suggested Ice-T had been temporarily banned from driving and he was booked and released for the charge.

The hip-hop star, real name Tracy Marrow, later logged on to the internet to blast the allegations and the arresting officer.

In a post on Twitter.com, he wrote, "Some punk b**ch rookie cop named Fisher #10026 made the arrest of his bulls**t career today. Arresting the notorious Ice T for no seatbelt."

He insisted authorities had made a mistake, because his licence from his native New Jersey is clean, adding: "That (suspended licence) is some bulls**t they made up... Lie. For the record... My license is not suspended. I don't and never had a NYC licence. I have a valid NJ licence. It was all bulls**t."

But bosses of the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association (PBA), which represents police officers in New York City, have now hit back, branding the rapper "disrespectful".

PBA President Patrick Lynch tells the New York Post, "(Ice-T) may play a police officer on TV, but his disdain for law enforcement is well-documented. Real police officers enforce real laws that exist to keep everyone safe, even a disrespectful, former rap performer-turned-actor, whether he likes it or not."

There is more to this than meets the eye.

Yet they said nothing about the claim that he DOESN'T have an NYC liscense. Something in this milk isn't clean. We all know how hard the NYPD goes for one of their own. If what this officer said was in fact true they would've offered up proof. Not come out with some lame ass..he is disrespectful crap. Don't buy it and I hope ICE-T has a good lawyer.

I don't see where the PBA said Ice-T was lying? Some cops ain't shit.

NYC cops aren't worth a damn, but Ice-T is out of his mind. I guess he thought he could get away with dissin' one of "New York's Finest" just because he played one on TV. He already has a bad rep with cops on the east and west coast because of his "Cop Killer" song. And he was very wrong to put the cop's name and badge number on the internet. What was he thinking??

He and his cartoon wife are so ignorant and out of touch with reality that they would be funny if they weren't so pathetic.

Why was he wrong to put the cops name and badge number on the internet? They put out his real name, social, home address and everything else on the police reports right? So now suddenly cops are special and shouldn't have their names put out there? Get real and give me a damn break. This cop thought he was going to be something special for arresting Ice-T. Sad thing is this will bite him in the ass. The PBA needs to just sit their asses down and let this fall out whichever way it does.

You don't do it because the cop can easily become a target. It's the same as dispensing information about a judge or D.A. You just don't do it--not if you're smart, that is.

And it's nothing "sudden" about not putting a cop on front street. It's been a rule, particularly between cops and hustlers, for centuries. Ice-T knows this having been a hustler, or so he says.

But you don't have to be hustler to know this--you just have to have use common sense.

I don't blame Ice T. The cops information should be public. If you file a police report that information is considered public information. If the cop was right he aint got nothing to worry about. Most cops walk around like they rule over slaves. I say fuck em. What respect do they deserve. Not one of them has ever done a damn thing to help me in my hood. Hell I'll call Ray-Ray for back up before I call the po-pos.

For someone who has always spoken so many racial slurs it funny seeing this man being married to a white who who also seems to be a slut. All she every does is how her azz and nothing else while she is such an asset. If this is the kind of woman that a man wants or thinks that he needs for me to be then he can just keep it moving I am not interested in being anyone else personal slave sex trafficer. I am a woman with just as many asset as the next man or woman, people please especially ladies know your worth.

PBA President Patrick Lynch didn't address the issue of whether or not he had a suspended license. Translation;Ice-T was telling the truth.

Okay. Let me break it down. The officer saw Coco in the car and thought she was a prostitute. When he came up to the car they weren't wearing seatbelts. The cop didn't give a damn (and didn't know who the hell "Ice-T"was) and ran his license. Opps license suspended. The PBA didn't go to far because they don't want a public relations fiasco on their hands.
