Barron Hilton Ordered to Pay $225k in DUI Case

Paris Hilton's little brother Barron order to pay restitution to a man he hit while driving drunk.

Two days after Barron Hilton's auto insurance company was ordered to pay $4.6 million dollars to a man that Hilton hit while drunk, a court has ordered Paris’ little brother to pay $225k in punitive damages out of his own pocket.

Hilton was sued by Fernando Telez, a former gas station worker, who was hit by Hilton’s car just moments before the hotel heir was arrested for a DUI in 2008.

The jury voted 9-3 for the staggering $4.6 million dollar verdict for compensatory damages. The jury deliberated two days before coming back late Tuesday with that verdict.

Telez claimed be broke his back and has been unable to find work since the accident. However, during the trial, it was revealed that Telez continued to work for a month after the incident, and didn't seek any medical attention the day of the accident.

It was also revealed that Telez's then-boss asked him at the time if he wanted to file for workers compensation, and he said no.

Hilton, now 21, later plead no contest to the DUI charge and to being in possession of a fake ID. He was placed on three years probation, fined $2,000, and ordered to take alcohol education classes, which he has successfully completed.

Sources connected to the case tell RadarOnline.com that the insurance company is going to appeal the $4.6 million dollar judgement.

Ok, I hate to say it, I'm on the insurance's side with this one. This is so a fake lawsuit.

If this fool turned down w/c, and did not go to the ER like you are supposed to after an accident (in which the insurance company would of paid for, along with the w/c) then he should not get 4.6 million. Idiot, he should of read his insurance booklet on what to do after an accident.

He should get the 225K, but that's it.

had car accident, where girl was way drunk....had a cut on forehead,er..yeah went that night..bill was 499,still went to wk....nxt day,a wk later, her insurance company tracked me down..they pd for my damaged car at about 2000,then offered me the full 2500 on the personal injury side...had to tell them just had md bill which my insurance covered,so had to reimburse insurance company and i was fine with 250 in personal injury.....insurance company people sent me $2500 anyway....insurance companies are crazy, they truely need regulation because these adjustors dont know what the hell their doing, which drives our rates sky high....if this dude was wking the next day,he should have never gotten this settlement, his back was not broken, maybe sprained at best.....he didnt do comp because he would face a tougher md...classic case of system being played.

225K sounds about right. Thta 4.6 million is some bullshit. Why should he get all of that money when he worked for a month afterwards with no medical attention? Sounds like a crock of shit to me. ALSO..what happened to his DUI case because he was clearly underaged and drinking...or did his daddy buy off the judge in that case too?
