White Stripes/Raconteurs rocker Jack White and his wife Karen Elson happily announce their divorce after six years of marriage.
You probably know that divorce parties are "things" that people do. But probably more in the context of a Real Housewife type having her girls fly with her to Vegas for an anything-but-fun-filled weekend of drinking, crying, and not eating solid food. Model Karen Elson will not exit her marriage in such a déclassé fashion. She is having a joint divorce party with her soon-to-be-ex-husband, which will also celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary, in Nashville.Jacked from NY Mag
The couple says in a statement:
We remain dear and trusted friends and co-parents to our wonderful children Scarlett and Henry Lee. We feel so fortunate for the time we have shared and the time we will continue to spend both separately and together watching our children grow. In honor of that time shared, we are throwing a divorce party. an evening together in Nashville to re-affirm our friendship and celebrate the past and future with close friends and family.
