Leonardo DiCaprio tapped to star opposite Beyonce in the Clint Eastwood remake of 'A Star is Born'.
EXCLUSIVE: I hear Clint Eastwood is using his time with Leonardo DiCaprio on the J Edgar Hoover biopic to discuss the director's new Warner Bros project A Star Is Born. Clint is hoping to team Leo with Beyoncé, who's already set for the musical. Clint is producing through Malpaso as well as helming the script by Will Fetters. Producers are Billy Gerber and Basil Iwanyk and Jon Peters (who made the infamous version with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson). The project has been at WB for several years, and there'd been talk of pairing Beyoncé and Will Smith. But casting Leo as the male lead would make for a much more interesting movie. There have been a trio of A Star Is Born versions made since the 1930s, the last one coming in 1976 with Kristofferson playing the boozer and Streisand the wannabe. Or even #4 if you consider What Price Hollywood (1932) made by George Cukor, which is often forgotten.Jacked from Deadline

Everybody knows Beyonce can't act! So why does Clint Eastwood want to work with her? Why is DiCaprio starring in this? Is this going to be another "Monster's Ball" type movie? There is much more to this that we don't know.
I hope she acting and diction lessons first. Did you see Cadillac Records? How you gonna play a woman from south central los angeles with a texas accent. That irked my nerves, being an Etta James fan and all.

This is such a shame. A REAL actress should have been chosen for this role. Beyduncey can barely speak proper English and heaven knows she is no actress. This is unfair to the REAL actresses out there who actually love and live the art itself and not just to gain accolades which is all this fraud is after. She has hated on Jennifer Hudson ever since she won the award for Dreamgirls and this fool actually thought it was going to be all about her. Damn Clint. You have lost major points with this one.

Why is it that no credible news site (cable news channel, magazine, newspaper) is reporting this? Hell, it's not even on E! Isn't she supposed to start filming in September? Have I missed something because if CE has not finished the Hoover movie how is he going to direct and write the script for this flop-in-waiting?
