Amy Winehouse Found Dead

Troubled Soul singer Amy Winehouse dead at 27.
Singer Amy Winehouse, 27, has been found dead at her north London home.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed that a 27-year-old woman had died in Camden and that the cause of death was as yet unexplained.

London Ambulance Service said it had been called to the flat at 1554 BST and sent two vehicles but the woman died.

The troubled singer had a long battle with drink and drugs which overshadowed her recent musical career. She pulled out of a comeback tour last month.

Last month, the north Londoner pulled out of the European tour after she was jeered at the first gig in Serbia for appearing too drunk to perform.

For 90 minutes, she mumbled through parts of songs and at times left the stage - leaving her band to fill in.

Winehouse had won widespread acclaim, aged 20, with her 2003 debut album, Frank.

RIP To Amy Winehouse, this a huge loss for the music industry. I enjoyed her music a great deal. It was so sad to see that she could not shake her demons of "DNA"? Drugs and alcohol ruined her life. She will be missed

Dang, what a waste. Learn from this lesson that drugs are powerful! Seek God in your life!

People need to stop glorifying these drug head losers. Sad for her family and their loss but she created her own ending.

Her passing is a huge lost to the industry. This young lady had something that is rare in the industry and that is talent. So sad things ended this way. It is a shame. What a loss.

Don't drink or drug and go to meetings.

OR ELSE...

She got the message, too bad she didn't GET the message.

Have some compassion bitch! the girl just died. She had talent, no one is glorifying her.

RIP Amy, you were a great singer.

RIP, Damn I guess when they tried to make her go to rehab she should've said YES, YES, YES!

He can only hold her. Amy my dear. She knew she was going to die. The public knew she was heading down that road. Rest in peace Amy <3

@4:26

I don't have to have shit bitch. I meant what I said. Who gives a flying fuck if she had talent. Again the only people I feel sorry for are her family members. I have sympathy for an idiot that wrote a song about not going to rehab and then dying of drugs. She wins the darwin award.

^^ >no sympathy.

This is so sad but expected because of her drug and drink issues Not trying to be mean....yes i am...I wish it was Lindsey Lohan insted..She will wind up just like Amy.....again so sad but not a shock....just a pitty to waist talent like that.....

My sympathy to the Winehouse family and to her fans who mourn her. This is sad even though most knew this outcome was inevitable because of her drug use. Wish she could have beaten the demon of addiction, but it was not meant to be. RIP Amy. SMH She was so young.

man, the number 27 is cursed . Every time someone dies mysteriously, they are always 27. That's crazy.

Anonymous said...

Some people are so damn heartless!!! The world just lost an AMAZING talent! If anyone on this blog don't care about Amy Winehouse or her struggle with addiction then do her REAL fans a favor and kill yourself later on tonight...please and thank you! RIP Amy Winehouse...you will be missed...

Anonymous said...

^^^8:33 Give me a break because all this sympathy and respect being shown to Amy was NOT being shown to her when she was alive! People treated her like a walking punch line now all of a sudden when she dies people claim they loved her so much. PLEASE the same people going in on Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen for their addictions and bad behavior will be the same ones crying how much they respected and loved them if they were to up and die tomorrow. Its just a bunch of phonies if you ask me.

Incase you didn’t know millions of people world wide die everyday from their addictions to drugs. Where’s their sympathy and acknowledgment?... Same people getting on folks for not having sympathy for Amy will step right over a drunk homeless alcoholic or crack head on the streets. Cut the bull shit!

^^^my comment was for *8:23*

I guess she should have gone to rehab instead of saying no. Looking at all the "fans" who bought this crackheads music while she thumbed her nose at you about her drug use. Thanks for giving her more money to shoot up her arm to kill herself. Yea it's so sad but her "fans" were dancing right along to no rehab.

Anonymous said...

Like I said....RIP Amy Winehouse....you will be missed by your TRUE fans...that is all

Anonymous said...

You would probably step over that same homeless alchoholic. What is it to you if her fans pay tribute to her? Why does the admiration and sympathy shown to Amy bother you so? Should not matter to you. Do YOU show sympathy or respect those millions of drug addicts who die as a result of their addictions?

Anonymous said...

Most of you need to knock it off! if yall not addicted to drugs yall are probably addicted to SOMETHING- FOOD, alcohol, ciggs, MJ,sex, BEING STUPID!! no matter what a HUMAN BEING DIED regardless of how she died she has family- stop being so dumb! for all of the insensitive folk...death will be near you soon- so you can learn how it feels! ASSHOLES!!

It's amazing to me how when a celebrity dies all these hardcore fans and Stans come out of the e-woodwork. People leaving all these comments about how she was the greatest and had the best songs, writing dissertations and dedicating their damn twitter and shit, when these same mothafuckers probably ain't been to nayah one concert, bought one album, or supported one cause.

As unfortunate as this is, I'm not surprised, nor anyone should be. Ol' girl has been in and out of rehab so many times, she was destined to get to this point. And that's just real.

Anonymous said...

Honestly, I believe most saw this coming and still hoped she would have gotten the help she needed. These hardcore fans who think she is the best probably felt that way about BEFORE she passed and even stood by her during the downfall when her performances were not the greatest. Fans of Amy Winehouse are saddened, but not shocked. She had a special talent that was hindered by her obvious drug use. This young lady was indeed talented and it is a shame that her life is over so soon.

All of you, with the exception of those whose "keeping it real" need to STFU!!!

Quit internet banging because you know in your day to day life, you don't talk to people like that.

That is ALL...

First off the police are saying do not say she died of an overdose because her death is being treated as suspicious. Autopsy is not in so let's stop passing judgement and let her just rest in peace already. Shes finally getting the peace she never had!
RIP AMY WINEHOUSE!

RIP in Amy. Also, here's sympathy for her family and friends for this loss.

I love Take the Box... If you've never heard it check it out... Frank album is not laced with drug references... Just a debut album bout relationship stuff I could relate to...

I dig AW's 1st album Frank but I will point this out to ppl. I noticed years ago that she did not seem comfortable as a performer in the Frank years. After she got married, tatooed the eff up and doped up she seemed to have a smig more confidence.

I felt bad when the parents issued that statement to public requesting no one purchase AW's music because it was fueling her drug addiction...they said if you love our daughter's music download it for free...

Look, I'm sorry to hear Amy died, but talented? Please. Take away the "Motown Sound" and what's left? A white chick singing black music and not doing it as well as black people. As Smokey Robinson once said, mama said there'd be days like this ...

Lots of British singers I've noticed grew up and use Motown soul.... IDKY...

Joss Stone, Adele, Amy...

Amy winehouse was talented, she was a singer and a songwriter. She wasnt running around popping her box for attention, or stealing everything and claiming credit, or finding red sew-in pieces to complete her ensemble. As a true amyhead, i have both of her cds, and my greatest regret is never seeing her in concert. I know drug and alcohol abuse, my family is marred by it, so i am saddened my her passing, but not surprised.
This is going to sound really weird, but i always felt like if she and lindsey lived with me for a month, they wouldnt need anymore rehab. Living in baltimore does that to you

@11:23

I don't have a problem with her fans paying tribute to her I do have a problem with them telling them what I can say. I didn't say anything about the fans until they came for me. I have all the respect in the world for her family and my sympathy goes out to them but to her "fans" I could care less. Pay tribute to Amy don't worry about what I'm doing.

GailS said...

@11:12am ... I know why, because music by black people is the best music on the planet. Whether it's the blues by B.B. King, soul by Aretha, or rap by Jay Z -- everyone wants to sing like us. From the Beatles to Amy Winehouse, the Brits have been singing our music since Chuck Berry sang "Little Queenie" and they don't do it half as good as we do.

You came for the fans. They were paying tribute to Amy and you insulted them and their fave singer. You can say what you want. No problem with that. Just at a time like this your insults of Amy are to say the least uncalled for. All they asked is show some respect. I mean, the singer has just died. There comes a time when negativity and disrespect should not be displayed. And now, whether you liked her or not, is just not the time. She was human and someone's daughter. Some things at certain times you just keep to yourself. That's just being real.

11:50 The fans were paying tribute to Amy Winehouse. You worried about what they were doing.

Why are people using my "That is all" line ? Swagger jacking is lame. That is all.

My grandmother doesnt understand why everyone is so upset thatthe young lady is deceased at 27, because she is at peace on the other side. She is actually better off then all of us in this hell hole. She left behind great music and thank god there are no drug addicts in paradise.

People mental illness is real. We have another celebrity who died prematurely.

If someone doubts it is a mental illness then you obviously are unaware.

Addiction derives from life experiences. It mask ones pain. Addiction is not that persons choice.

Only God and her knew. God is the only one who can judge.

My condolences to the family.

I love you Amy Winehouse. RIP. I hope you are in a safe and happier place. You were a star and I am sad you did not survive stardom. Tears will dry on their own.

I don’t understand people’s theory. You are suppose to treat someone who is dead with the up most respect and love, but when they are alive that’s when its ok to treat them like garbage. People say “show some respect a human being just died”… Uhhh wasn’t she a human being, with feelings, when the media and people were dogging her?

Okay I get it now when someone is alive and can actually be affected by hurtful and mean words that’s when you treat them any old kind of way and call them all types of names, but when they are dead and can no longer hear your words that’s when you show respect… I can go pull up any old Amy post and read the comments and I bet these so called fans who claim to have always loved her, comments are nowhere to be found.

I agree with 10:06 the same people on her demanding respect for Amy are probably the same ones on Lindsay Lohan posts calling her a useless slut, and calling her a waste of life. You should respect someone when they are dead AND alive. It shouldn’t take death for people to finally leave a troubled person alone.

I don't understand why some would have an issue respecting someone who has passed on regardless of how they saw that person. As mentioned, there comes a time when all that negativity, etc just doesn't need to be brought up. Respect for the family if not that individual. You cannot say all that are showing respect to Amy are only do so because she has passed away. Those who are wanted to show their respect and saw this as not the time to speak against her. Cannot help what the media does. They lie most of the time. Her fans, however, stood by her regardless of what she was facing or what others were saying about her. One can call out the drug use or the behavior of an artist but to resor to calling names etc is uncalled for. If these "so called" fans want respect for her then fine. That should be understood and should not bother those who feel it is not warranted. A person, regardless of behavior, is to be respected both dead and alive. True. But, that doesn't happen unfortunately. Meanwhile, ask yourself if you do it. If you don't respect her now (referring to her as a drug head, loser....) I know you did not then. Practice what you preach.
