Paul Anka is upset with Jay Z for refusing to collab on his new album 'Duets.'
Paul Anka -- one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time -- is calling out Jay-Z ... telling TMZ the rapper treated him like a chump ... and now Anka is PISSED.
Anka was outside Madeo restaurant in L.A. last night, when we asked about his upcoming album "Duets" -- which features collaborations with legends like Willie Nelson, Gloria Estefan and Dolly Parton.
But you know who isn't on the album? Jigga ... because according to Anka, Mr. Knowles didn't have the common courtesy to return a simple phone call!!!
Anka says he feels completely disrespected -- and says Jay acted "inappropriately" towards him ... especially since Jay once sampled Anka's biggest hit "My Way" on a rap song.
Now, Anka is escalating his anger into a full on war of the music titans -- and even took a shot back at Jay-Z.
Not many people in the music biz would have the stones to go after Hova ... then again, not many people would have the stones to disrespect Anka either.

Jay Z is about to get his ni**** wake up call, and his white pass revoked permanently. Yep Jay Z, you and that dumb wife of yours actually think they are your good friends. DUMB-DUMB-DUMB. You just don't seem to understand, the white folks are not your friends, as a matter of fact they won't be happy until we are back in chains agains.
I guess it never occur to Mr. Anka that maybe Jay Z was busy. Or it could've been that he never got the message. But the way I see it is Mr. Anka expected Shawn Carter to jump at the opportunity to record with him. Mr. Anka is displaying that master slave syndrome.It didn't work now his offended. BOW DOWN!!!!!

I'm sure Paul just needs a reason to cross paths with bey.

A lot of these celebs want so badly to make bey & jay snap thats why they continue to nit pick at them. Calling him Mr.Knowels is proof he wants beef with jay because now he won't be able to cross paths with bey. This is about bey not music
If Jay doesn't want to collab with you, its his right. No need to pout & cry about it. Everybody is so jealous that jay has bey.
It said that Jay did not return his call - that is rude, and second, that is true Jay don't have to collaborate with Anka, but as the article states Jay did not have a problem sampling Anka's biggest hit either. Don't make the mistake that Bey & Jay are not touchable just like that got all that money and rose to the top, the powers that be can tear them down, and leave them for broke, and in a financial mess. Do yall remember Michael Jackson.

If jay sampled Ankas biggest hit, Anka surely got paid for it. Jay does not owe this man. He doesn't have to answer his phone if he doesn't want to. Sometimes people just wanna be left alone.
This inbred is old enough to know that when someone doesn't return your calls, it simply means they don't wanna talk to you. Theres plenty of inbreds that would love to collab with Anka, leave jay alone.

Ankas may not have gotten paid, it could have been a deal where you use my sample and collab with me when I want to do something. During a NY outing didnt Robert Deniro go off on Jay Z at a party because they were suppose to put together an event. At the party Beyonce tried to go over to smooth things but it didnt work. So this is not the first time men, especially white men have called out Jay Z for being disrespectful an dnot returning calls.
That is the way money is made in that business.Anka IS one of the yet breathing icons. To those of us with music history. Its about respect and paying dues...wont ever change....sorry. Bey and Jay are calling themselves royalty. This man is music royalty whether you we own a recording from him.or not. Whatever ....the music business has mafia like etiquette. If you cant do it fine....but you are supposed to have respect. One day he wont get a call back. Know history.before you stans.jump on the bandwagon. Like a said before. A lot of people are knit picking I know all of you put everyone before bey & jay. If this story had been the other way around you guys would still bash Jay.
Calling someone out & embarrassing them in a room full of people, is not exactly royalty etiquette. neither is calling jay Mr. Knowles, proper etiquette. Maybe if they showed respect, Jay would give them respect in return. Robert & Paul might not be very nice people.
You guys shouldn't just automatically assume bey & jay are always guilty all the time.
I'm not a Jay fan. Paul is an icon, But as these entertainers get older, they have a tendency to treat the younger artist like disobedient children.
bey & jay are being continuously ridiculed & publically disrespected. They have to be the STRONGEST couple in show biz. people act as thought they don't have any feelings at all.

Anka can find a better artist to replace him if it is about music. Jay Z is not the greatest rapper and his tone is extremely annoying when speaking or rapping. In an interview, he called himself the new Sinatra. He portrays mafia scenes and Vegas vintage suit and tie style. Yet, when he's called on to duet with an actual and not a wanna be, he's unavailable. I never respected Jay Z or Sean Combs for all of that shucking and jiving hob knobbing they try to portray. Both of their leading ladies do the same with the blonde wigs and such (Mrs.Carter and Janice, Sean's mother).

If Anka can find a better Artist to replace Jay, maybe he would. He seemed pretty upset & angry that jay won't return his calls, blasting him to the SIMPLE paparazzi & publically referring to him as Mr Knowles.
Maybe you should get in touch with Anka to inform him that he can get a better Artist.
being as though, he is a Legendary Icon, has been in the business for decades, but somehow is unaware of this fact.
I didn't realize Anka's secretary was commenting on this page. He called Jay Z because he represents New York in a way many others have tried and failed. But, of course the messanger is always shot because of a simple observation made. I get so frustrated when fans take it upon themselves to insult others for stating an opinion. No one loves the art of music more than me, but I have never seen such idol worshippers in all of my day. While you are being so snarky why don't you go fashion yourself a golden calf to bow down to as well. In the 90's, we called that behavior "jocking."
