Robin Thicke Slammed for Misogynistic Lyrics

R&B singer Robin Thicke slammed over "rapey" song lyrics on his single "Blurred Lines."
Robin Thicke has blurred the line between respect and derogation toward women.
The singer’s single “Blurred Lines” featuring Pharrell and T.I. has received criticism for its misogynistic undertone and “kind of rapey” lyrics, as Tricia Romano of the Daily Beast described it.
“The song is about how a girl really wants crazy wild sex but doesn’t say it,” Romano wrote Monday about the track, “positing that age-old problem where men think no means yes into a catchy, hummable song.”
“Blurred Lines” will appear on Thicke’s sixth studio album, which will be released July 30.
While the track has nabbed the number 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 and is “admittedly very catchy,” according to blogger Lisa Huyne, it’s still receiving a negative response due to its degrading sensibilities.
What’s worse is how Thicke responded to inquiries about the record and his creative thinking behind the production of it.
“We tried to do everything that was taboo,” he told GQ on May 7, “bestiality, drug injections, and everything that is completely derogatory towards women.”
The 36-year-old singer, who is married to actress Paula Patton, defended the song by indicating the irony that he, T.I. and Pharrell are all “happily married with children.” Because the men are settled in their lives with their families, Thicke said they’re “the perfect guys to make fun of this.”

And it STILL went to Number #1. What does that say about the listeners?

Of course he'll get away with it because A) White people (esp. women) don't listen to him like that and B) Negro rapppers project these same concepts over and over again and it would be C) hypocritical black women who support this garbage loves the occasional "blue-eyed" soul.

I'm convinced the label execs specifically ask for this garbage to get media attention for the artist. Nobody was checkin for Robin Thicke until this shitty ditty came out. Young people will listen to anything now and the more rebellious, deranged, violent and sexually explicit the better. This is the kind of donkey doo that sells & gets you the cover of rolling stone. He talks about how he's a family man and settled down. Didn't he have some major drug problems about a minute ago and the last time I saw Paula Patton she was higher than a damn kite. Where has real music gone? Lyrics are so negative now and the industry satanic.
